A few weeks ago I old a friend that I was behind on posting stories of hypocrisy. Five posts and 42 pastor later and I’m just now catching up.

Pastor Raymond Paul Buhrow, 64, charged with indecent assault, unlawful contract with a minor and corruption of a minor. The victims were 14 and 16 years old girls. Burrow was the pastor at Calvary Temple Holiness Church of Carlisle, Pa.

Youth pastor Jeremy Mitchell was charged for having an inappropriate relationship with a young girl. Mitchell worked for Eastview Christian Church, Martinsville, Ind.

“He came and told us the situation and resigned.  We prayed for him and then notified the proper authorities and things have taken their course,” said Rick Miller, senior minister at Eastview Christian Church.

Pastor Venije Singkoh, 70, charged with three counts of child molestation has pleaded down to a misdemeanor count of false imprisonment. He was accused on kissing a 9-year-old girl while she sat on his lap. Singkoh practices his faith from his home in Daily City Ca. He does not have to register as a sex offender.

Bishop Alfred Drake stands accused of illegally selling his church for a fraction of its market value. Drake took $50k fee and a promise of a free apartment for the deal. The church is asking a judge to void the sale. Drake was defrocked by this church, The Holy Cross African Orthodox Church in Harlem, NY.

Rev. Jeremiah N. Murasso has been suspended because of accusations that he sexually abused a child. Criminal charges have not been filed. Morass was pastor at Blessed Sacrament and the Shrine of St. Anne in Waterbury, CT.

Pastor James Osborne and his wife Joyce Osborne, pleaded guilty to larceny for stealing $70k from Ghent Bible Baptist church in Ghent, Ny. The face seven years in prison.

Pastor Larry McKinley Clark want to move his child molestation trail out of Rockbridge County because his case has received too much publicity. Clark has already been convicted of sexual assault in another case and will serve 35 years in prison. Plus, there is another case with additional child molestation charges involving a 14 year old boy. Clark was the pastor at Pentecostal Outreach Church in Buena Vista, VA.

Everett Pastor arrested in vice sting resigns 

An Everett pastor arrested in a Seattle vice sting has resigned.

The lead pastor of Everett's First Baptist Church, Brian Harpell, said Thursday that associate pastor John K. Lawlor turned in his resignation. Harpell says the church is cooperating with the investigation and praying for all parties involved.

Shane Montgomery arrested for computer child porn, failure to register

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A former Little Rock pastor is under arrest once again.

Former pastor Shane Montgomery is facing charges of computer child pornography and failure to register as a sex offender.

LRPD detectives got a tip that Montgomery may have pornographic photos of juveniles on his Twitter account.

Nigerian pastor arrested with human parts

The police in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, have arrested a pastor and his accomplice with fresh human parts.

They allegedly concealed the human parts in two bags at the time they were arrested.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, on Monday confirmed the arrest of the pastor and his accomplice.

La Grange pastor jailed after child sexual assault charge

US Pastor reamins jailed in Russia on bribery charge

Russian Ministries is advocating for the release of U.S. citizen Pastor Thomas Kang. Russian Ministries Project Manager for Religious Freedom Issues in Eurasia Wade Kusack says Pastor Kang "has been held for more than five months already in custody on an attempted bribery charge. The bribe was a $30 donation he provided in conjunction with a fine he willfully paid."

Upstate pastor suspended from church after allegedly beating daughter

SENECA, S.C. —An Upstate pastor is placed on administrative leave after police say he punched his teen daughter and threw her on the floor.

The Rev. Derrick Wayne Jones is the senior pastor at the Church of God in Seneca. He has been suspended from pastoral duties while police investigate.

Peterson pastor Fairley found guilty of attempted murder

A Paterson pastor faces up to 20 years in prison after a jury Friday convicted him of attempted murder for stabbing his longtime mistress after she told him she was ending their affair and marrying another man.

The Rev. Edward Fairley will be sentenced March 22 by state Superior Court Judge Marilyn C. Clark in Paterson. After beginning its deliberations for about an hour late Thursday and resuming at 1:30 p.m. Friday, the panel announced it had reached its decision about 4:20 p.m.

Officer guilty of failing to file abuse report

CORONA: Cop convicted of failing to report child abuse allegations

A Corona police officer who did not disclose allegations that a 13-year-old boy was possibly being abused by the pastor and other members of her church was convicted Friday of failing to report child abuse or neglect.

A six-man, six-woman jury in Riverside took less than a day to reach a verdict on the misdemeanor charge against Cpl. Margaret Bell, a 23-year law enforcement veteran.

Pastor arrested after referee scuffle

CHAMBLEE, Ga. — A pastor who once ministered at a well-known megachurch was arrested on charges of attacking a referee at Chamblee High School during a girls' basketball game.

The referee is concerned he's been suspended from officiating because he defended himself.

Substitute teacher and pastor charged with sexual abuse in Mason County

A substitute teacher and pastor in Mason County is charged with two counts of sexual abuse.

James Paul Hadinger, 44, of Gallipolis Ferry, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 21. He was charged with two counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person in a position of trust to a child.

Hadinger is accused of sexually abusing an underage girl from an area junior and senior high school. According to police, Hadinger took the victim to an abandoned building late one night earlier in the month, where the alleged abuse happened.

 Former Gibbon pastor loses appeal in sex assault case

A former Lutheran pastor from a church in rural Gibbon has lost an appeal that could have reduced his felony conviction for sexually assaulting a foreign exchange student.

When David Edwin Radtke, 53, went to trial in Sibley County in October 2011, the jury was allowed to watch a video recording of a confession he made to a detective in Wisconsin after he was arrested there the previous May. He had traveled to Wisconsin for a job interview the day after a 16-year-old foreign exchange student accused him of sexually penetrating her with his finger.

Church gets new pastor after rape ordeal

JOHANNESBURG - The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God said a new pastor was appointed to run its church in Zola, Soweto after the previous pastor was arrested for rape.

The trainee pastor was arrested almost two weeks ago for allegedly raping a 29-year-old woman three times in a locked room at the church.

Hestephenson Araujo, 21, reportedly needed hospital treatment after the incident on Saturday night during a religious crusade in Manaus, northern Brazil.

Police detained Joshua Hinn, 21, along with two of Benny Hinn's bodyguards, on suspicion of torture after the three men allegedly locked Mr Araujo in a trailer and physically assaulted him.

Father Michael Miller's cased continued for 20th time

Father Michael Miller, formerly of St. Paul's Church in Kensington had his hearing Wednesday continued to March 28, 2013. The hearing will take place in GA 15 Courthouse, at 20 Franklin Square, New Britain.

This is the 20th time the case has been continued since it came to the court last summer. Miller was arrested July 12, 2011 on five felony counts of risk of injury to a minor and a misdemeanor obscenity charge.

Cardinal Turkson child abuse blunder may damage papal prospects

Cardinal Peter Turkson may have badly damaged his prospects of becoming pope by suggesting that child sexual abuse is not a major problem in churches in Africa because homosexuality is looked on negatively. The remark is not only offensive but also reveals a dangerous ignorance that may undermine attempts to protect children.

Since Pope Benedict XVI, now frail and in poor health, announced his resignation, there has been much media speculation about who would become the next pope. Peter Turkson, who comes from Ghana, has been widely named as a possible candidate. But his remarks during an interview with Christiane Amanpour of CNN may have lessened his chances.

 

The Atheist’s guide to discussion with Catholics

I do a few book reviews here on Deep Thoughts. It’s not something I push much, because of the time commitment involved, but I’m about to change that as I plan to do more. I’m starting with a small self-published book called The Atheist’s guide to discussion with Catholics by James Clark. It’s $2.99 on Amazon.

Mr. Clark organizes 50 different topics into a discussion discussion guide that uses plain English and easy to understand explanations to cover various aspects in Catholicism and Christianity. I found the book an easy read, and interesting. The target audience is a person who is not well versed in religion, the bible, or theology.

Topics covered include:

• Epicurean Paradox
• We would not have moral guidance without God
• Bible Contradiction
• Purgatory
• Noah’s Ark
• Pedophilia
• Witch hunts

This book is not a deep tome, nor does it cover it’s subjects in detail. Consider it a mostly accurate summary of the subjects covered from an Atheist’s perspective. It’s short, at 33 pages, with most sections are just a few paragraphs long. If you are unfamiliar with Catholicism, this book will give a few good discussion points and prime you for a deeper dive.

The history behind this book is fascinating. James Clark was born in Jijeka, Croatia to a atheist father and and slightly theist mother. Clark was taught as a boy to think for himself. Since Croatia is mostly Christian, Clark cataloged his thoughts and ideas so that he could use them when talking to Christians. This book is the first 50 topics and was translated to English from Clark’s native Croatian. The next 50 topics are pending. 

I’m a fan. Well done Mr. Clark.

Lubbock Pastor indicted

I’m never moving to Lubbock. I’ve lost track of how many pastors pedophile pastors I’ve reported on from this little Texas city. I think the number is four now… Terry Nesmith is the latest pastor to face charges.

Terry Nesmith was pastor of the Faith Assembly of God from 1992 until July of this year. He is indicted for indecency with a child.

The child is now an adult and claims that she was fondled over the course of a four year period. Police records indicate the alleged victim came forward in 2006, and that the alleged incidents took place in the mid to late 1990's.

It must be something in the holy water.

Pastor’s conviction upheld

Pastor James Clark imported an African women and used her as a sex slave. He appealed his conviction arguing the term "Immoral purposes” was unconstitutionally vague. The appeals court upheld the verdict.

Convicted pastor seeks appeal

James Cornell Clark was convicted of keeping a Kenyan sex slave at his Lubbuck Texas home. I posted his story back in 2007. Now he is appealing his conviction in order to reduce his prison sentence.  Clark is truly a stain. 

Several months after they met, Clark called the woman and arranged for her to travel to Texas and enroll at South Plains College in Levelland, where she lived in a dorm room. Prosecutors said Clark frequently called or e-mailed her, demanding sex and threatening to have her deported if she refused to comply.

"He expended all this money on her, so it was time for her to give back," Simonton said.

The woman confided in a career counselor, who reported the allegations to a college official. After Clark was arrested in April 2006, investigators searched his computer and found a collage of photos of him posing with several other African women.

“He expended all this money on her, so it was time for her to give back.” Clark was a pastor. How can this statement even be uttered? It is hypocrisy of the highest order. What a stain.

eHarmony.com to match 'gays'

I read this headline and smiled. One of James Dobson's backhanded attempts at social engineering has failed. Dobson used eHarmony.com to define healthy relationships. In doing so, Dobson excluded gay relationships from the equation.

Internet dating service eHarmony has officially agreed to begin matching homosexual couples, beginning next year.

The popular California-based service has been known for focusing on long-term relationships, especially marriage, which has been said to align with founder Clark Warren's early work with Focus on the Family's evangelical Christian base and perspective.

Warren, a psychologist with a divinity degree, has had three of his 10 books on love and dating published by Focus on the Family. It was an appearance on James Dobson's radio program, in 2001, that triggered a response of 90,000 new referrals to the website, starting a climb of registered participants on the site from 4,000 to today's 20 million clients.

As WND reported, the company originally said it was " based on the Christian principles of Focus on the Family author Dr. Neil Clark Warren." It stood firm on its decision to reject homosexuals from its profiling and matching services. Its entire compatibility system is based on research of married heterosexual couples.

Former Lubbock pastor goes to prison

Pastor James Cornell Clark is a bad man. He stole food from the mouths of needy children and pocketed the money for his own gain. Now he is going away to prison for almost 20 years.

Prosecutors say Clark created the businesses to receive funds for the Summer Food Program, created by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to provide nutritious meals for children when school is closed.

Ex-Lubbock pastor convicted

Pastor James Clark had his day in court. Guilty!

LUBBOCK, Texas — A federal jury has convicted a former Lubbock pastor accused of demanding sex from an African woman he sponsored with the promise of a college education.

James Cornell Clark was found guilty Wednesday of importation of an alien for immoral purposes.

Investigators say Clark met the woman in August 2005 while on a trip to Kenya.

Prosecutors say Clark, after the woman arrived and was enrolled at South Plains College in Levelland, demanded she repay him by performing sexual favors.

Defense attorney Helen Liggett challenged the woman's testimony, saying she had sexually exploited herself to get a better life.

Sentencing is pending for Clark, who faces up to ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Evil Lurks in Lubbock

Another pedophile Lubbock pastor is on his way to prison for molesting a 6 year old boy who attended Light of the World Christian Center. Royce Jimenez was found guilty on August 15th.
Jimenez claimed he never did anything inappropriate. The jury disagreed.

In Lubbock, police reports it says the boy told his parents the pastor had taken him to a VA clinic, where they shared a bathroom stall and exchanged in inappropriate touching.

In court, Jimenez testified he used the urinal, while the boy went in a separate stall. Jimenez says the boy came over to him and said his genitals looked like his fathers. Jimenez says he told the boy that it was inappropriate to look at him.

Lubbock Pastor May Not Stand Trial

I wrote about James Clark in May. Clark is accused of importing an exchange student from Africa for use as his personal prostitute. Clark may not stand trial.

Declining health may keep a former Lubbock pastor from standing trial.

James Clark is accused of forcing an African exchange student to have sex in return for tuition last year. He faces several charges including compelling prostitution, money laundering and fraud.

Clark had been set to stand trial on June 11th. Several health problems, including a stroke, keep pushing back that court date.

So now, the prosecutors and defense have asked that Clark be evaluated to see if he is even competent to stand trial.

Determining if a man is competent to stand trail is a scary thought. In this case it would mean that Clark's stroke was serious enough to affect is ability to understand write an wrong. I hope that is not that case, nobody deserves to live like that, not even a hypocrite. Besides, I would rather Clark spend the rest of his days in prison (assuming his guilt).

Another sexual predator posing as a pastor in Lubbock?

I've been following the trials of tribulations of alleged pedophile Blaine Miller for about a month now. His church is going through hell sorting out how to deal with Miller and the pastor who is protecting him. I wish them well. The comment thread indicates Miller is allowed access to a church run day care center - even after two one outstanding sexual abuse indictment. Something is seriously wrong at Lakeridge Baptist Church. I've taken the extraordinary step of contacting the local media in an effort to draw attention to Millers alleged continued access to children.

Lubbock is a smallish town in Texas, how many sexual predictor/pastors can there be in one town? I was shocked to learn the number is at least two. James Clark, is the former pastor of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church on Cedar Avenue in Lubbock. Clark is alleged to have imported an Kenyan exchange student for use as his own prostitute. He turned an innocent girl into a prostitute under the guise of benevolent Christian missionary work- do they teach that in the bible?

Count 43, importation of an alien for immoral purposes, alleges that between August 14, 2005 and January 15, 2006, Clark brought an alien, “Jane Doe,” into the U.S. from Kenya for the purpose of prostitution. In April 2006, Clark was arrested by the Hockley County District Attorney’s Office in Levelland, Texas, for the offense of compelling prostitution by force/threat. Federal search warrants were executed at Clark’s home and office with the primary purpose to find evidence relating to human trafficking. However, a cursory review of the seized evidence revealed evidence of violations having been committed by Clark regarding the participation in the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church in the Summer Food Service Program

James Clark sounds like a peach. If convicted of his crimes, Clark will die in jail. You spin the wheel, you take your chances.

What is it about Texas? I drink bottled water now when I visit, "just in case".
