Pastor David Radtke arrested

David RadtkePastor David Edwin Radtke was arrested on charges that he sexually assaulted a 16-year-old foreign exchange student who was sharing his home. The girl went to authorities after Radtke admitted the crime to his family and then asked for forgiveness.

According to the charge, Radtke inappropriately touched a 16-year-old student from Spain that has been residing at his home in Gibbon, Minn., since August 2010. On May 17, she allegedly awoke to Radtke assaulting her.

Radtke was arrested while visiting Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman where he was seeking a job. He is the pastor at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Gibbon.

The gall of this man is astounding. He allegedly molested a young girl and then told his wife about the abuse. His wife confronted the victim and asked for forgiveness. I’m sure they leveraged the whole Christian forgiveness angle too.

If found guilty Radtke faces 15 years in prison on each count. That’s a hell of a price to pay for a backrub.

The victim… told investigators that Radtke often asked to give her back massages, which sometimes caused her to go to sleep.

Radtky say he will take full responsibly for his actions. If that is true I expect him to plead guilty and serve the recommended prison sentence.

I wonder if the new church he was looking for a job at will still hire him? LOL

I think the wife should face some kind of charges. She was told and all she did was ask the girl for forgiveness. I thought not reporting a crime was a crime also.
Good point Baconsbud. These men of faith seem to think they are above the law .
It was a total shock to the entire community, no one would of ever thought he was capable of it, including his wife. He was "Key word' was a stellar minister with a perfect record. His son just graduated today and he was not able to be in attendance. So sad. He ruined not only his life but his families lives as well and the student's life that was the exchange student. I hope with counseling they will all be able to heal and move on in life.

Of course it was a shock to the community. I doubt most people really think that more then a few people within a community might do something like this and the parents of kids generally know who those are. I would bet that in cases of this nature very few times are the ones that are thought to be possible predators actually the ones that do anything.
They had an exchange student the year before that reported a rape and abduction while jogging one morning. Said she was abducted and raped by a man who drove by on the road. It turned out not to have happened, but she got to go home.

Makes me wonder if he was touching her.
