Mormons feel the heat

I like watching the world wake up to the institutional hate proffered by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Their stance on gay marriage, their funding of political campaigns, and their outright anti-gay political activism, all justify the reaction we see in the press today. When you make your bed…

Something different caught my attention today. With all the other self-inflicted problems that face Mormon Church, I tend to forget that some Christians consider the church a cult.

An evangelical Christian accused of harassing the Mormon church spent nearly three hours knocking on an elder's door, the High Court was told yesterday.

Andrew Price, a preacher with the Church of England (Continuing) visited Elder Dustin Shaver at his home in Walthamstow, north London in September as part of his campaign against the Mormons.

Andrew Price is a hoot. I’m happy he does not have Atheists in his sites. But as Britain's number one Mormon critic, he’s attracted some attention amongst the cultish faithful.

Andrew Price is a man who has been teaching against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is a preacher from Great Britain. He is in his fifties, is married to a younger woman named Ruth, and talks with a heavy British accent. He targets missionaries. He somehow gets their telephone numbers and cell numbers and talks to them. He starts out very friendly; just an old man wanting to chat. Then, he introduces them to deep doctrine. He introduces one little subject at a time. While introducing this subject, he takes doctrine and quotes from prominent, historical leaders, and uses those quotes and facts to support his own twisted and distorted views of the church, in much the same way a defense attorney questions unsuspecting witnesses.

In the same way Mormon missionaries pester potential new converts… ha! There is some justice in the world. I think I’ll contribute to  his defense fund.
