Bristol Palin pregnancy was planned and that’s the problem

In Bristol Palin’s own words:

I made a mistake, but it’s not the mistake all these giddy a$holes have loved to assume.

This pregnancy was actually planned.

Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family.  Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself. Things didn’t go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on.
- via Bristol Palin

Sure Bristol, we understand. You planned to have another baby. Which means that you planned to have sex out of wedlock. Which means you spoke lies when talking to children about absence only sex education. You lied. That’s why people are piling the hate on. You lied, and now your all like, Fuck it! This is what I planned.

You hid behind religion when it made financial sense and now when its convenient, you drop the act that was making you money and hide behind religion again to ask that we don’t judge. We judge you because that’s what we do when presented with clear evidence. We will not give you the love you seek because we don’t trust you, nor do we don’t trust your family of grifters.

Chronicles of Hypocrisy #3

I was wrong. I lost my way…

Pastor Michael Blanchard was sentenced to 10 month in prison for fraudulent claims for disability benefits for veterans. He was the pastor at Corner Stone Christian Center in Norfolk, Virginia.

Baptist youth pastor Derrick “Duke” Hampsch was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexual misconduct with a minor. The victims was 13. Hampsch worked at First Baptist Church in Vincennes, Indiana.

Pastor Ralph Barnett, 74, was sentenced to three years in prison for sexually abusing a preteen girl. It, “Just happened.” Barnett was the pastor at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Peoria, Illinois.

Pastor William Wilson, 79, was sentenced to probation and $570 for attempted moving violation causing death. He ran into a Stephanie Lynn Schabow, 23, killing her in a head on collision. Wilson said, “I will apologize to her in heaven.” He made the list for being a jackass.

Pastor Timothy Bariteau was convicted of having sexual contact with a child. He faces up to 15 years in prison. Barite was a pastor at Morningside Community Church in Brookings, South Dakota.

Pastor Cesar Chin pleaded guilty to failure to report child abuse. He was sentenced to two years probation and he must write letters of apology to his victims. Chin failed to report the sexual abuse of three girls over a period of seven years. The problem is that he actually withheld the knowledge and the court let him off with probation. Chin needs to do time. Chin is the pastor at Church of Jesus, Our Only Hope in Winter Springs, Florida.

Youth pastor Jeffery London was found guilty of charges that he sexually abused a child. He faces 10 years in prison. London was the pastor at Bible Church of God in Fort Lauderdale and dean of students at Eagle Academy charter school in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida.

And now in odd religious news

I can see newspaper headline writers having a fit with this one. I have no title that describes this insanity. Do you?

What do you call it when an Orthodox Jewish group protests a gay pride event by paying Mexican laborers to hold anti-gay signs? Idiots come to mind, so does cowards.
Behind a barricade, a group of men wore the fringed Jewish prayer garment known as the tzitzit and held up anti-gay signs bearing the logo of a group calling itself the Jewish Political Action Committee.

“Judaism prohibits homosexuality,” one sign read.

But the men were not Jewish. They were Mexican laborers, protesting because they were paid to protest, said one of the men, who would not give his name.

Chronicles of Hypocrisy #2

The list grows today with six more hypocrites.

Pastor Jerry Allums stands accused of multiple counts of lewd acts with a minor and two counts of violating a child younger than 14. His alleged victims range in age from 8 to 15 years old. Albums was the pastor at Green Pastures Independent Faith Church in Richmond, California.

Pastor James Callozzo stands accused of sexual imposition. He allegedly approached a boy in a bathroom and asked him about his genitals and then… well, it’s not pretty. Callozzo is the pastor at Nativity of Christ orthodox Church in Youngstown, Ohio.

Baptist youth pastor Ryan Scott Rodgers surrendered to police on charges of having sex with two teen males. The abuse allegedly took place for over a year with grooming activity extending back even farther. Rodgers had been on the run before turning himself in. Rodgers was a youth pastor at several baptist churches in Jefferson and Plaquemines Parishes in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Baptist youth pastor Jonathan Bailey was arrested on a 13-count indictment alleging a patter of predatory conduct with underage children. This case hit the press in March. I found the it while reading about the Rodgers case noted above. There is no known connection between the two men even though they operated in the same area. Bailey was the youth pastor at First Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. The church fired him after the abuse surfaced, but they hired him despite similar allegations at another church. Perhaps they did not know about it, or perhaps the structure of the Southern Baptist Convention that does not allow for proper tracking and reporting of pedophile pastors.

Pastor Clifton Wells pleaded no contest to charges that he inappropriately touched a teenage girl while taking her to a job application. Wells is a pastor at The Church of Jesus Christ in Omaha, Nebraska.

Baptist pastor Curtis Southward stands accused of sexually abusing a mentally disabled woman. The story is horrible. If true, Southward is an ass and deserves special attention from an axe handle. Southward is the pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in La Porte, Indiana.

Pastor Daniel Allen Jack while awaiting trial on charges that he forcibly raped a young girl, tied to justify his actions by saying that the victim is lying because she consented to sex on six other occasions (after the rape of course). Allen was the youth pastor at Amplify Church in Plum, Pennsylvania,

Canadian Senator Don Meredith belongs here

I track cases of religious hypocrisy. It’s a bit of a hobby and a calling. In my post yesterday, I added nine new cases to a long list of misery, but I missed a tenth. A helpful reader left a tip.

Pentecostal Pastor and Canadian Senator Don Meredith allegedly had a illicit two year relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
The conduct described in this news report is in and of itself incompatible with the position of senator,” Mr. Housakos wrote. “It also suggests that Senator Meredith may have improperly used his position of trust and authority as a senator.”

The latest allegations of impropriety against Mr. Meredith came this week in a Toronto Star article that outlined the senator’s two-year relationship with an unnamed girl – replete with sexually suggestive text messages. The news story said he met the girl at a religious function in Ottawa when she was 16 and courted her with dinner invitations and attempts to lure her to his hotel room.
- via The Globe and Mail
Why is this hypocrisy? He used his position as an influential pastor and senator to pursue an underage woman for sex. If he is comfortable enough doing this, what else is he capable of?

“Pastor” Don Meredith also fails the credibility test. He’s a man who claims false titles which he uses to secure positions and appointments. False titles are credentials, like unearned degrees, added to make one sound more accomplished. Meredith has an honorary degree from an unaccredited institution that he used to call himself a doctor. His undergrad and graduate “degrees” are from a unaccredited degree mill. The man is a fraud. The only question left is how far will he fall?

Chronicles of Hypocrisy #1

Hypocrisy… There are so many cases. It is hard to keep track. Chronicles of Hypocrisy will attempt to gather up cases as they make the news.

Youth pastor Samuel Allen Nuckolls, convicted and now serving a 10-year sentence for filming women while they took showers, is now appealing his conviction to the Mississippi Supreme Court. I don’t think he will be successful. See more on his original case here.

Baptist pastor Larry Jones, is seeking to have his child porn case dismissed on first amendment grounds. He was arrested for writing a story detailing his sexual fantasies about underage members of his church. Jones is the pastor at Missionary Baptist Church in McAlester, Oklahoma.

Baptist pastor Mack Allen Davis was sentenced for sex crimes against children. His victims were members of his youth group. The abuse took place over his 30 year career.

Rev. Lynda-Lee Aikiema Gonsalves-Barnes was arrested on charges of swindling Medicaid out of $94k. She ran an interesting scam. She allegedly setup a church called Omega Alpha Nu Ministries, then open clinic, then created a fictional therapist, and then started billing for imaginary therapy session. She operated in Kissimmee, Florida.

Pastor Jules Anderson was arrested and accused on indecent behavior with a juvenile. Anderson is the former pastor of Israelite Divine Spiritual Church of Christ II in Four Corners. Louisiana.

Pastor Rudolph Walls, a registered sex offender, was arrested for sexual misconduct with two minors. Walls is the pastor at Friendly Chapel in Dillion, South Carolina.

Pastor Darrell Ranel was arrested for allegedly raping a 11-year-old girl. Ravel is the pastor at Black Creek African Methodist Episcopal Church of Darlington, Louisiana.

Pastor William Jackson McCullers was arrested on 10 counts of lewd and lascivious acts on four different children. McCullers assisted at Tabernacle of Praise Church in Chipley, Florida.

Former pastor Timothy Bariteau was convicted of having sexual contact with a child under the age of 16. He will serve 15 years in prison. Bariteau was the pastor at Morningside Community Church in Brookings, South Dakota.

Updated July 12 to include more information about the Nuckolls case.

Congrats to dumb ass Bristol Palin

Announcing the birth of a new child is often joyous news, except when you are the very definition of a Christian hypocrite. I think Bristol Palin’s sad story fits the bill. Don’t you?

Palin is pregnant again and she is still unmarried of course. Per her faith and convictions she should be chaste until married, but even though she earns a whopping $262k in speaking fees for her abstinence-only eduction campaign, she still seems to live the life of one ignorant of the Lord.
I wanted you guys to be the first to know that I am pregnant.

Honestly, I’ve been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one.

At the end of the day there’s nothing I can’t do with God by my side, and I know I am fully capable of handling anything that is put in front of me with dignity and grace.
- via Bristol Palin

How is she believable? How is she a star in evangelical circles? How is she invited to speak to children about something that she has never practiced? Follow her advice and your daughters become mothers. She had an out-of-wedlock kid at age 16, and now a second illegitimate child is on the way. She is the very definition of what we do not want our daughters to become. She does not live her values. I doubt she has any.

Does she go on a sex fast for a week before speaking on abstinence? Is that how she justifies speaking about something she does not practice? Do Christian pastors look at her and think, “Well, this is the best I can do. At least she has a name people will recognize.”

Everybody involved in this mess is a hypocrite. It’s pathetic. Abstinence does not work and your ambassador is the best example of its failure. Your kids are likely to act just like Bristol Palin instead of the make-believe alternative she offers with her words. A solid sexual education program tied to easy access to birth control is the answer to the question, “How do we stop teen pregnancy?”

Pastor Keith Harrison Jr. Sentenced

I have tracked this case since it first hit the news over a year ago. Pastor Keith Harrison Jr. was arrested and charged with child molestation and statutory rape. The victim was a 15-year-old girl who Harrison raped several times.

He entered a guilty plea to statutory rape in Thomas County Superior Court. Judge Harry Jay Altman sentenced 36-year-old Harrison to 15 years in prison, serve three, with the remainder on probation.
- via Thomasville Times-Enterprise

15 years in prison as a pedophile pastor. I’m sure he will regret the error of his ways after the first week inside.

Harrison was the pastor at The Life, Power & Praise Church in Thomasville. Ga.

A legacy of hate

Stormfront.org is bad mojo.

After a two-year investigation, the SPLC said (pdf) that since Stormfront became one of the first hate sites on the internet in 1995, its registered users have been disproportionately responsible for major killings. The report was released a month early after white supremacist Frazier Glenn Miller, also known as Frazier Glenn Cross, was accused of killing three people at a Jewish center in Kansas City on Sunday.

Seem like a good target for Anonymous if there ever was one.

Pastor Duane Youngblood gets more time

Do you remember pastor Duane Youngblood? He was sentenced to a year of house arrest and seven years on probation for the sexual abuse of two teenage boys a few years ago. It was a slap on the wrist for a serious crime. This “man of god” deserved a much harsher punishment. He finally got it.

At a probation/parole violation hearing Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge David R. Cashman sentenced Duane E. Youngblood to 54 to 108 months in prison for violating terms Cashman set for probation on March 3, 2008.
- via TribLIVE.com
I’m thinking he should do the full 108. You?

Pastor G headed to trail

I’ve posted on Pastor Geronimo Aguilar before. He was the acclaimed pastor at The Richmond Outreach Center (ROC), now the Celebration Church and Outreach Ministry, before his public fall from grace for the alleged molestation of two sisters in the 1990s.

Pastor G is heading to trial in Texas. If convicted, he will spend the rest of his life in prison.

For the last two years Allen and others have waited for the trial which will see Aguilar tried for 12 counts of sexual abuse. Prosecutors allege Aguilar had sex with an 11 and 13-year-old girl repeatedly — including in church vans — when he was living with them as a minister near Fort Worth in the 1990s.
- via WTVR.com
Two 11 and 13-year-old sisters… think about the depravity involved in that set of Christian values.

Rev. Robert Gamel arrested for child porn

I pass Los Banos on the way up to Norcal ever other month or so. It’s a blur of a city off of Interstate 5 that I’ve never visited. I’ll think differently about this little burg now that Rev. Robert Gamel, the local catholic priest, has been arrested for possession of child porn. I have this little map overlay in my head that allows me to point to a church and say, “The youth pastor there was arrested for…”

Gamel, 65, has been under investigation since Aug. 14, when church officials told police the now-former head of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Los Banos may have obtained from the Internet nude photographs of a teenage parishioner, according to court records obtained by the Merced Sun-Star.
- via mercedsunstar

Gamel had been celebrating mass with senior citizens until his arrest. Now that the authorities have credible evidence, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno will not allow him to work in ministry.

Gamel sounds like a creep. His victim is a teenage boy who Gamel stalked via the internet. He was caught because he bragged about his exploits.

A suicide watch is needed for Rachel Dolezal

When the world crashes down around your ears, when you are the butt of every joke, when your name is synonymous with deception, a suicide watch is a good idea. Right now, Rachel Dolezal, a white woman who claims to be an African American, should be watched closely. Her fraud is exposed. Social media and the news are consuming her. Her own words and actions condemn her as liar and fraud. I feel sorry for her and I worry about her future. She needs help.

How did she trick so many people?

Born to white parents in Montana, Dolezal has reportedly long been fascinated with black culture. Her family’s ancestry, however, is largely German and Czech, her parents say. (Ruthanne and Larry Dolezal provided a birth certificate listing them as Rachel Dolezal's parents.)
- via The Daily Beast

I have a theory about how she tricked so many people. I think she believes her own sad story.

Youth pastor Derek Hutter pleads guilty

The teen mentioned below is a 13-year-old girl in his youth group. Youth pastor Derek Hutter is 37.

Authorities say Hutter was a youth pastor at South Garland Baptist Church and married when he began an online and cellphone relationship with the teen.
- via Valley Central

Hunter worked for South Garland Baptist Church in Texas, which as expected, does not acknowledge the controversy on the church website.

The victim’s parents discovered the relationship while reviewing photos on the girl’s phone. Which is a good thing, but it raises a few questions. Do 13-year-old children really need smartphones? If so, , what is the role of parents in monitoring activity? Should parents use technology like TeenSafe? More importantly, should parents allow unmonitored access to their children?

What about the church? Do they use a management agent for church smart phones? Do they monitor employees social media behavior? Do they have a social media policy? Are at-risk populations properly educated? Are the kids attending youth group meetings told about what a youth pastor can and cannot do? Do the kids know the difference between appropriate and inappropriate staff behavior? Is there a safe reporting mechanism? Is there a two adult policy?

I’ll reach out to the church, but I expect to get the same answer I aways do. No comment!

Pastor Mark Anderson arrested

It’s the small stories that catch my attention. Like a little blurb in Imperial Valley Press about the arrest of a Baptist pastor named Mark Anderson and his arrest for attempting to arrange for a lewd act with a 14-year-old girl.

Mark Anderson was booked into Imperial County jail Saturday evening following an investigation by Brawley police detectives. A 14-year-old female had alerted authorities Friday evening of having received inappropriate sexual communications from him, a Brawley Police Department press release stated.
- via Imperial Valley Press Online

Smart girl… Never trust a pastor with a young woman’s virtue. I think its safer to assume a pastor is just a man who is capable of the same base behavior as any other man. Being a man of God offers no special virtues.

I needed some good news today

I needed some good news today and this made me smile. It seems disgraced McKinney Police Corporal Eric Casebolt has resigned.

“He came into the call out of control and as the video shows was out of control during the incident.” Conley said. “I had 12 officers on the scene and 11 of them performed according to their training.”
- via www.fox4news.com

I was worried that an internal review process would result in the McKinney Police Department finding in Casebolt’s favor. At least we have some acknowledgement that his actions were unbecoming a human being.

A “friend” of Hastert’s victim speaks

What is that saying Michael Corleone used in the Godfather? “...keep your friends close and your enimies closer.” I think this saying applies to this story.

The Stefano Esposito of the Chicago Sun-Times interviewed Mike Thanepohn about allegations that Denny Hastert molested Steve Reinbolt in back in 1967-71 at Yorkville High School. Don’t bother reading the article. It’s one-sided and single sourced. The major points are described below:

  • Mike Thanepohn alleges that he was a friend and teammate of Steve Reinbolt.
  • Thanepohn claims Hastert never did anything inapropriate.
  • Thanepohn does not trust Reinbolt’s allegations.
  • Thanepohn alleges that Reinbolt made a pass at him which was not receipricated. So, Thanepohn is establishing that Reinbolt is gay and that he was not.
  • Thanepohn alleges Reinbolt was using drugs 20 years after graduation.

I somehow doubt anything like friendship existed between the two men. Plus, Thanepohn seems motivated to establish his straight bonafides. Right? To restate the Thanepohn’s interview...

He was not molested. He is not gay. He does not use drugs. And... that Reinblot guy was a lying gay drug user."

Is this good reporting? Does it add to the Hastert story in any meaningful way?

Another issue I have with this story is its dependance on recollections from 50 years ago. I’m ten years younger thatThanepohn and I have trouble remembering the names of the people I played basetball with in the late 70s, let alone the names and actions of my coaches. Can I say that any one of them did anything inappropriate? No. I can’t remember anything clearly and I was too young to recognize preditory behavior. I’m think one of the kids on my team was gay, but I can’t remember that for sure either. I may have it wrong. It may just be speculation that stuck with me over the years. Recollections of the past are unreliable. Why should we believe any of this?

CAIR Invests in your children

CAIR Ahmad Saleem was arrested for trying to have sex with a child.

CAIR leader Ahmad Saleem, a Muslim youth coordinator, was also one of the men arrested. Investigators said the men all went to a home in Clermont with the hopes of having sex with a child. The car Saleem traveled in had a license plate that said, "Invest in children," according to investigators.
- via Freedom Outpost

I don’t know what to say besides, “That’s gross.”

More to follow…
