It can be a blessing and a curse. My visual of Ted Haggart, leader of the nation’s largest evangelical magachurch, was of Pastor Ted on his knees in the classic Jesus prayer pose, with a microphone in his left hand and a fat stack of cash in his right hand, with fake tears of joy running down his cheeks.
My new visual is… odd. Pastor Ted is still on his knees, in his left hand is a man thingy, in is right hand is a tube of lube. Those tears of joy… I’m not so sure they are tears anymore.
A friend has a saying. The easiest way to spot a drunk is to look for the Mothers Against Drunk Driving bumper sticker. So, it follows then that the best way to spot an evangelical hypocrite is how loudly they protest against gay-rights.
My atheist mediation for the day: Please god, let there be video.

Just for accuracy I feel obliged to inform you that the largest evangelical megachurch is located in Houston and the pastor is Joel Osteen.
cool - is pastor Joel gay too?
HAHAHAHAHA
I read the same thing at http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/nation/4307615.html
just goes to show ya. I think you have it right on the nose about that bumper sticker thing. I know a guy who puts that "I support the local sheriff" on his car to avoid being pulled over. I guess the same goes for religious hypocrites too.
and I wouldn't doubt Pastor Joel is gay too. Not that it matters of course, I support gay people. I just don't support hypocritical assholes.
