Nutball Altert: Firpo Carr changed his religion

Eighteen months ago, I attended a survey of Western Religion course offered by the University of Phoenix and taught by the pseudo "Dr." Firpo Carr, as he finished his oblique Jehovah’s Witness indoctrination, he asked the class to deduce his religion. I guessed apostate Jehovah’s Witness. He was flabbergasted, and then unmistakably declared he was definitely a Witness in good standing.

Time goes by…. the wind blows… calendar pages flip… a friend attends the same Western Religion class at the University of Phoenix. At the end of my friend’s class, which was last week, Firpo Carr admitted he was not a Jehovah Witness. I wonder if his involvement with accused child molester Michael Jackson had anything to do with his disfellowship.

For those of you who don’t follow my rants, Firpo Carr is on my Nutball watch list. He claims to be Michael Jackson’s spiritual advisor, which qualified him for the nutball list all by itself. He was also my instructor near the end of my undergrad at the UOP. He was supposed to teach Survey of Western Religion; instead he taught Jehovah’s Witness theology and suppressed dissenting opinions from those who recognized his scam (me).

Very strange! The "university" is a little bit of a strange entity as well - looks like it needs a wee bit of oversight.

I'm impressed that you could find anything to "diagnose" a former JW. What signalled it for you?

Carr spent the entire five weeks of the comparative religions class teaching JW theology. He even gave out JW publications and his own self-published books. The final class was comparing Christianity with SW theology to show Christian "mistakes". I was the only person out of a class of 30 that realized the class was a BS JW fraud, it was scary. Of course, by this time he had forbade my use of a computer and asked me not to disrupt the class with questions. It really was a bad experience.

I hope you noted this in your class evaluation form? The university and esp his dept. ought to be made aware.

Since, as you say, you were "the only person out of a class of 30 that realized the class was a BS JW fraud", is it possible that the problem was within yourself and not the class?

It might be possible you let your personal prejudices effect your perception of the actual course. It would be interesting to hear what the other 29 students took away from the class.

He is a nutball. He is misrepresenting himself as a JW - he is NOT and has not been for a very long time.

He has a very distorted & inflated perception of himself & reality.

Firpo is like a lot of JWs who leave or are kicked out because they don't fit the mold. Yet because their indoctrination and the guilt of leaving "Jehovah's organization" is so overpowering, they defend this religion because they can't shake the blinders off their eyes to see it is a lame 19th century carny religion. He is like a race horse trying to run all out for the prize of perpetual life on earth in some wacky Jim Jone's like paradise, But he does love the limelight.

Dr Firpo Carr was disfellowshiped yet again in December 2008 from the English speaking Artesian congregation of California.

His lifestyle choices were cited as the reasons for his disfellowship.

I have had personal contact with the said individual and can confirm that Firpo Carr is a very dangerous individual. Avoid him at all costs and do not get into any dialogue with him.

He is a very unstable individual that has a tendency to try to ruin or in his words crush individuals as he sees fit.

I do not find it strange at all that any one who is looking not for God, but for a religious community in which to serve God is demeaned. Using derogatory labels is a trick learned from the English who did it with success to dominate non-Caucasian nations and persons. This alone lost me as an audience to what you wish to discuss.

Randall Watters, previous commenter is one who should be avoided as strenuously as Carr. He may sound balanced, but his words and actions over the years say otherwise. They are cut from the same cloth.

I for one am a little confused. if Mr. Carr is no longer one of J.W.'s (which I tend to believe), I wonder why he would be teaching what we have found to be true from our study of the Bible. For instance, God's name (Jehovah) can be found in most Bibles at Psalms 83:18. The fact that God's name has been replaced with capitol GOD or LORD, can also be verified at your public library in the Theology section. It is sad to me that so many Christians today do not know the name of the Creator, and give HIM praise. It is the difference between gaining life, and not. EVERY Christian should do their OWN search of what the Bible ACTUALLY says, instead of just going by traditions, or how they were raised. WARNING, this will take a little time on your part, but the benifits are immeasurable!!!!! L.H. in Orlando

Everybody finds fault with something or someone, but passing judgement on who is a Nutball, is really a harsh judgement. Freedom to change classes is an option, if you see you were looking for something else. Name calling makes no sense, its a senseless way, and uneducated way to address someone. referring to someone that way makes me not respect you or anything else you have to say, I'm sure anyone reading your comment has no respect for you for using that type of characterization, its rude, and has a revengeful uneducated ring to it. miss us with your judgements. you are judged by what you say about others; and it makes you look very very small, to Blog it shows Bullying others to agree with your judgement. Bullying is so over. Keep your words professional or keep them to yourself. Nutball is a Bully's word, but I'm sure you have more tea to spill.
