The murder took place 16 years ago in a convent in Kerala, India. Many who followed the case did not thing Sister Abhaya did not think her murders would ever be brought to justice. This may change now that a priest and two nuns have been arrested.
The three arrested are Catholic priests Thomas M. Kottoor, 61, and Jose Puthrukayil, 56, and Reverend Sister Steffi, 45.
My fear is that justice will not be served. India’s standards for criminal investigations are flexible. And the catholic church makes for a good whipping boy.
