Youth Pastor Joshua O'Bannion Arrested (Again)

Youth Pastor Joshua O’Bannion was arrested on for sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

Police said that between January and December 2008, O'Bannion sexually assaulted a 14-year-old female and a 15-year-old female in and outside of First United Pentecostal Church.

The alleged victims came forward after O'Bannion was arrested in September in Arizona in connection with the sexual assault of a 14-year-old female who attended a church in Tempe, Arizona where O'Bannion was working as a youth pastor.

A youth pastor who rapes children, why am I not surprised?

First of all There is a God and you need to get to know him!!! I grew up with Josh O'bannion and yeah what he did was wrong and he needs to go to prison for it there is no excuse for raping a 14 year old girl. But youth pastors are very important in the ministry and there should be more to show these kids what the truth is. Nobody said we should get rid of preists[sic] when there were countless accounts of little alter boys getting raped. One person does not describe the thousands of good people out there who are trying to bring the youth of our nation the truth.

One person no, it is when the count reaches 400 or 500 that I start to wonder about your logic.

I must say thousands, and in the whole world!
It is always the same story, a priest who rapes kids and he only gets transfered to a place when no one knows he's a pedophile and so on...
But of course they'll go to heaven, not atheists, they're evil, c'mon!!!

They go to heaven? Who said that? The Bible doesn't. Jesus never did. Did people say that? Because last I heard, people don't determine who goes to heaven, only God.

please do you even know the story? Read up before you comment. Joshua left our church so he can expand and bring the word into many peoples hearts. He was not transfered because he was a pedophile! Get the facts staraight on hewre before you comment on what you think you know!

That's why we need the record you keep. "There's a lot of this" is an anecdote. "There have been # reported cases I can find in the last # years" is a fact.

I don't see how what that fan posted is a stupidity. No one reports the good news, only the bad. As disgusting and awful situations like Josh's are, it doesn't mean you discredit all people of the same profession that are making a difference for good. There are countless adults that work with minors and have a positive influence in their lives.

Maybe you're right.. let's just ban all priests and youth pastors. Surely then no minors will be raped anymore. There will always be pain and evil in this world. It's not a reflection of the profession, but of individuals. What Josh did is horrible... Let's not confuse the man with his profession.

Not true. People report the good news all the time. Especially at this time of the year. As for not confusing the man with the profession, this is what I am pushing. It needs reform and oversight along with a good dose of commonsense.

I should responded to this a long time ago. People report all kids of good news., especially churches. I think O'bannion does cast dirt on your profession. I'm calling for you to clean up your act.

Josh is a good person just got caught up in the wrong act! He is young and followed the wrong path! I grew up with him he was my brothers best friend and I will stand by and defend him as a person but not the crime he committed!

A weird situation like what? Weird like how some people in his family are perverts too? I do NOT feel bad for him. He knows what he did was wrong. Young? No! Was he not around his mid-twenties? Cindy, you disgust me. He got caught up in the wrong act?!?! How can you say that? These girls were not throwing themselves at Josh!! There was something--stolen--from them by a pervert.

Considering that Josh has not been been released from custody in Arizona, he HAS NOT been arrested "again" in Ohio. He has to stand trial for his crimes in Arizona before he faces charges in Ohio. This blog is very misleading.

mmm, no you’re wrong. He needs the jail jacked up and slammed down on him. Forgiveness is his to get... but so is standing accountable for what he did. And he was found guilty in Ohio:

And by the way... records tell us atheists molest children too, just like some teachers, counselors, coaches, politicians and many others by the thousands! The focus on just "Christians" is very ignorant. Wrong is wrong no matter who does it, without excuse.

i think you all have a little too much time on your hands..don't any of you understand the more pain you are causing to the family with you posts..couldnt you reverse the rolls and think what if it was ur mom or dad brother or sister grandparent..anyone that you loved and others were slandering them and their mistake..yes somethings are wrong but any news reporter is going to say what they want to give the dirtiest story..if you would have been in the court room you would have heard that he plead guilty to the cleveland charges because he wanted to spare the famiy and the church any further investigations and just get this over with...and one more thing about teenage girls in this world..not necessarily these ones because i don't know..but everyone knows that teenage girls like older guys..and like to bat their eyelashes for attention...so i dont want to hear that these girls are at fault or not..you should see the horrish stuff that girls these days wear..but no one wants to make that into a factor in any case..girls should be smacked for wearing the garbage they do and parents should be penalized for allowing them to dress like that...

You don't have any right to talk about the girls that way. These girls are pretty, yes, but they did not flaunt themselves. They were not WILLING participants in any sex act.
