Youth Pastor Timothy Bottomley arrested

Youth Pastor Timothy Early Bottomley was arrested for possession and dissemination of child pornography.

Timothy Earl Bottomley, 24, of Scott Lane, and Brett M. Fenimore, 21, of the 3700 block of Concord Road, were remanded to the county prison in lieu of 10 percent of $250,000 bail each, according to online court records.

Bottomley is the youth pastor at Zion Community Church on Kings Highway in Clarksboro, N.J. Oh… and he’s screwed.

In a subsequent interview at county detective headquarters, Bottomley “admitted to downloading and possessing images of child pornography and advised his preferential age is 13- and 14-year-old boys and older,” the affidavit states.

I’m betting prison for 10 years.

I know him, gone on a couple trips with him and stuff, and worked along side him in ministry at this church and others. I am ashamed of what he did, how he lied to so many people, it is a heinous thing that he did. I just was wondering why you are attacking Christianity so much and why you can only find the negative things about this faith. It says in the Bible that people will come and will be teachers, in and out of the church, having the appearance of godliness, but denying it. Only God knows what is and was going on in his heart. Like if he truly ever believed or jumped into to terrible crimes, but is degrading everything about Christian Faith really helping anything? Show me any case of someone like this in a Christian church and I will match it with atleast one good christian, but it doesn't mean they are perfect.

The nature of a man can not be hidden. When I met him I noticed that he took boys for private conversations out of the veiw of others on many occasions. He said that he was teaching and discussing bible verses with them but I did not buy it. Him being young and so interested in young boy seemed un-natural. I am glad his chirade is over and hopefully their will be some redemption and forgiveness for him. If he does not get help he will become more dangerous and hurt more people. I will pray for him despite his transgressions.

Peace Be Still

I attended Tim's youth group every wednesday. Yes, carl, he did do something. Didn't you notice how he always picked up and attempted to wrestle all the guys? Remember him telling us that pornography and sex before marriag was a sin against god? Remember that sign on the fridge, " Porn rapes the mind." ? He taught us all the good things but then he sinned against them himself... and now look where he's at. You need to stop being so sugarcoated and stop being so sympathetic towards ones sins. Especially when he is going to be a hypricrite. He did something wrong, and now he's facing the consequences. And sure as hell, he deserves it.

I have known Tim for almost 10 years, and i was completely shocked when I found out. I didn't believe it at first. If you pay attention, it was a completely recent thing. And there were only what, 5 pictures on his computer as opposed to the other guys 100's! I am NOT JUSTIFYING what he did in anyway, but I want to make it clear to the people who made comments about him physically touching a child is WRONG. . HE NEVER EVER EVER TOUCHED A CHILD. He was at my church for about 6 years I think, and all of the youthgroupers and other children LOVED HIM. He would NEVER touch a child. So the comments about him wrestling and "taking kids in private" to talk about them are WRONG. And I think i would know, i was only 8 when I met him, and i was alone helping clean the church and other things with him plenty of times as I grew up and he not only did he NEVER EVER TOUCH me, he never made any inappropriate comment either.

And just because you are a christian doesn't mean you are perfect. Christian's mess up that is why we NEED God. What he did is disgusting and horrible, but i am not about to give up on him.
I've known tim since I was a rising 8th grader at a youth group camp. I;m now a freshmen in college, and tim is like my second brother. He helped me in my spirituality, and also he was a great friend. Just hearing the horrible things that happened is a shocker. But realizing that he only had 5 pictures. I believe he was peer pressured about it, because I always had one on ones with him about the scripture. I understand he he has done was wrong, and God knows it too. Everyone who said insulting comments about tim should be ashamed, because he knows it was a mistake. I make mistakes all the time, but we move on from what happened.
He got 30 weekends as punishment, less than many drug offenders....sick
