Pastor Jeffrey Nichols arrested

Why send your child to a Baptist school when the pastor who runs it is likely to abuse your child?

"Parents and employees at a small Baptist school in Attleboro were ‘devastated’ when they heard the school’s principal had been charged with sexually abusing a student on campus over nearly five years, and the alleged victim said she felt ‘relieved’ after speaking to police.

The Rev. Jeffrey Nichols, 47, principal of Grace Baptist Christian Academy and assistant pastor at an affiliated church, was arrested early Tuesday after an 18-year-old senior reported to Attleboro police that he had ‘victimized’ her from September 2008 to June 2013, according to a police report obtained by the Herald. Nichols was arraigned Tuesday and is being held on $25,000 cash bail."

There is nothing like exposing a pedophile pastor. I will never understand why religious parents think sending their child to a second-rate religious school is a good idea. Lack of oversight and the baggage that comes with religion by default should be enough to keep parents away. Plus, a school is just another way for a pastor to make income off his church business. When you add in that your child is exposed the risk of clergy sexual abuse… public school looks like a good option. Except in Texas.

Thanks for the tip my anonymous tipster!

First of all...no one ought to think a pastor, preacher, priest or anyone else in any religious position is any less of a human than is a non religious person. ALL HUMANS MAKE MISTAKES...NO EXCEPTIONS. No excuse for wrongdoing is being afforded this man.
He betrayed the trust of an ENTIRE COMMUNITY...not just the church. And as he should will suffer the consequences of the law. However, he has greatly impacted more lives than most people ever could in a lifetime. And for that we respected and loved him. And although the respect has much deservedly been lost...it does NOT mean we do not love the man. Hate the sin...love the sinner.
We better practice what we preach before firing all our guns on a man who has had a positive impact on the community LONG BEFORE HE CHOSE TO MAKE A GRAVE MISTAKE. AND DON'T FORGET...FOR A MAN IN THIS POSITION, that may be exactly what it is for him.
How about we chose to instead think of his family, his friends and his church and offer our condolences and words of sympathy and KIND support. For for those of us that are left in the wake of this betrayal, that is what we need most right now. Not another bigot that's out to destroy someone's reputation with hatred and presumptive thinking.

I agree with you. He positively influenced so many lives. Yes, I am shocked and appalled at his behavior. But do I hate him for it? No. He was an amazing man who changed my life and I am a better person for knowing him. I love him. I love his family. And I know I wouldn't be half the person I am today without knowing them. They were the chaperons on my senior trip! Until now, he was the only reason I went back and visited that school. So yes, what he did was wrong and disgusting. But at some point we will have to get past the point of being angry and disappointed in him and move on and forgive him. And let his family move on. They deserve it.

It is the religious right that preaches hatred for others that do not think like them. The truth is that the "religious" lie, steal, cheat, and are the most promiscuous along with having the most abortions. Many are on the down low about their bisexuality. And the truth is that the "religious" do not think sexual abuse is so bad and can be compared to stealing or lying.

Here is one blatant illustration of my conclusion. A popular teenage rocker who was raised by a Baptist Preacher was caught sexually abusing babies and made this revealing statement from his prison cell "At least I did not harm the babies." You see, it is OK to sexually abuse or torture children as long as you don't physically harm or kill them. That was his Baptist upbringing speaking...

His Baptist parents want him to be forgiven and would like the public to change their perception of child molesters. The Baptists are the ones that want to allow sex abuse to be accepted by the main stream.

A quote from the Baptist Mother of a baby molester to have sex abuse not be seen as evil.

'I hope something will happen to change that perception of people. Time will tell. We’re going to do our best to support him and hope for the best, that’s all we can do.’

Doesn't matter how much good people think this man did. He is scum. Period, there is no excuse for this kind of behaviour. Lucky for him, heaven and hell are fictitious so he will only answer to mans law despite what many believe he will have to face. I hope he spends a long time in prison.
