Father Angel Armando Perez, profiled here (2012), pleaded guilty to charges that he sexually abused a 12-year-old boy.
Perez pleaded guilty to sexual abuse in the first degree, which is a Measure 11 crime. He was sentenced to more than 6 years in prison.
He also pleaded guilty to DUII and a charge of giving alcohol to a person under 21. He will service those sentences concurrently.
Perez was formerly the pastor at the St. Luke Parish in Woodburn.
Perez chased his young victim through the streets of his community, drunk and clad only in his underwear, while horrified residents looked on. It was unbelievable then, and is even more so now. This was a Catholic priest without remorse. He deserves a long stretch in prison. Six years is not enough.
