The Pastor Eddie Long scandal is a story that keeps on giving. A third young man filed suit today, and he alleges the the same kind of sexual abuse.
Yesterday, Jamal Paris, a member of New Birth Ministry Baptist Church, filed a suit in DeKalb County Superior Court in Georgia against Long, the church and the Longfellows Youth Academy, Inc., which Long founded.
The big news in this story is that the abuse started when Paris was a teen.
The latest sexual abuse claims come from 23-year-old Jamal Parris, who joined the church at the age of 14, CNN reported today. He says that Long originally helped him to get a job at a summer camp after a strained relationship with his father, and took him on trips, gave him money and gifts, and asked for sexual favors in return.
I hope somebody is keeping an eye on pastor Long. With allegations like these pending, the risk of suicide is real.
