What they always do

I report on clergy sexual abuse almost every day her on Deep Thoughts. One of the reasons I do it is to create a place where the people involved can talk about what happened. One thing I’ve noticed is that no matter the evidence, somebody will take the side of the accused pastor and attack the victim.  “Sally Sue” dropped a note yesterday on  my Pastor Curtis Franklin arrested (12/09) post.

has anyone thought to check out the girl that is doing the accusing?????? I found out that she moved to Louisiana and started an affair with the Youth Pastor and when confronted lied but then broke down and told the truth....The Youth Pastor all of a sudden felt led to leave the church and the girl followed and is now going to have his baby....yes they are now married.....she is really messed up. And it is from one family that this is all coming from....they were offended in church....What a waste, I just do not understand them wanting to ruin a Pastor......But let us all check the facts...all of them....

I grow tired of telling those who post this crap that it is what the pastor did that is the issue, not what the victim did or has done since. The pastor allegedly committed a crime by raping a girl under the age of 16. And lets’ be clear here – the abuse started when the girl was 12.  With his background in the clergy, he should have known better. He should have ran the other way. He should have ran other way from his second victim too.

Do they ask you to check your brain at the door when you attend church?

My wife gets that all the time on her blog. " OMG how can you say such mean things about Jack Hyles? He was a great man of God!" It's bizarre how people (usually women) will defend these sick SOBs no matter how vile their actions.

"Do they ask you to check your brain at the door when you attend church?"

In some churches they do. You're not supposed to question God or those who speak for them. You're only to believe and obey.
I guess it is easier to blame the victims of sex abuse then it is to face the fact that you have been lied to by someone that is suppose to be above this type of actions. I have to agree that some women do grow attached to pastors. I wonder if it is because it seems they are speaking to them as no one else has ever spoken to them or is it because they are in a position of power. You see people becoming attached to people in positions of power in and out of religion.
There are two sides to every story.

what? There the side that says a horrible rapist was sent to prison and the side the says, I know you did not do it, it was the girl's fault. That would the logical/rational side and the stone cold fucking crazy side, right?
Right. Unfreakingbelievable. Religion itself is a paradigm of abuse, manifested in their insistance on blaming the victims, and exalting the perpetrators.
