Father Salvatore Rodino placed on leave

SlavatoreRodino An alleged  27-year-old sex crime haunts the dreams of Catholic Priest Salvatore Rodina. Did he, or didn’t he? We will have to wait to see. It does not look good so far.

In a statement to CBS 6, Bishop of Albany Howard J. Hubbard said, "On the recommendation of the Review Board's investigation, I have determined there are reasonable grounds to believe this allegation and have placed Father Rodino on Administrative leave. Father Rodino denies inappropriate contact with any youth.”

His parishioners think he is innocent. I know I will piss a few of them off by saying I’ve heard that story before. At the rate we are going, there will not be any more working priest over the age of 55.

Father Salvatore Rodino works out of St. Jude the Apostle in Wynantskill, NY.

At least it sounds like his church is doing something. Better late than never I guess.
"... His parishioners think he is innocent."

They NEVER "think" their priest/minister/youth pastor is guilty. Hell, even Hagert had followers who refused to believe he was using a male prostitue, even after he admitted it. Then when he told them he'd been "cured," of his homosexuality some believed that too.

Two reasons:
1- because they are indoctrinated at an early age to view their shamen as god's messengers, and god wouldn't have a perv for an emmissary.
2- because the term "think" is antithetical to who and what they are-- they are trained not to think independently, instead to respond with their "flock" mentality

I agree. Thinking is not part of the equation.
He was my priest when I grew up. My parents still attended his services until recently. Everyone is in support of him. I can't believe that all these "good people" would willingly stand in support of someone who may have molested children. It makes me crazy!
parties at his rectory, phone calls, emails, instant messages, constant dependance on his young male students " sex lives"
all this of course will not make a man guilty. But the question.. Why, why was it allowed, why would a grown man do this ... Why ?
