The Father Robert Timchak story

RobertTimchakFather Robert (Bob) M. Timchak waived his right to a preliminary  hearing on Wednesday.

The Rev. Robert Timchak, 43, most recently of 101 St. Vincent Drive, Milford, is charged with 17 counts of possessing child pornography, criminal use of a communication facility and tampering with physical evidence…

Timchak was turned in by his own Diocese.

It was the Diocese of Scranton that first brought concerns about Fr. Timchak to  the attention of law enforcement.  On Dec. 9, 2008, the Diocese received information from an anonymous source about possible improper use of a computer by Father Timchak.  Subsequently the Diocese  contacted the Pike County district attorney, without any notification or involvement by Father Timchak. The Diocese has been cooperating with the investigation.

The allegations against Timchak appear to focus on viewing child pornography rather than abusing children. At least no child was directly hurt by his actions. The creation of child porn itself qualifies as violence. A child was victimized in the process. Timchak should pay a steep price for his depravity.

It was just research! I mean, really, he has to counsel people about things like this. How would you expect a celibate priest to get a handle on something like sex without doing his research?

I hope he tries that line. It always fails.
You look like a sicko too.
My guess is this was payback from the diocese for something unrelated. They NEVER turn anyone in!

Try reading about this guy. http://www.boston.com/globe/spotlight/abuse/stori...
Their are some priest who give the church a bad name.
The catholics are not putting up with the crap anymore.
He has been sentenced to prison for 6 months to 72 months.
I am quite certain that this man is not the person who was looking at the child pornography, how ever being a catholic priest in this day and age doesn't have it's perks. How about the previous Father in that church who was a person of interest in the gay community. And yet was excused of his duties as a Father in the Diocese and was permitted to adopt children. This man laid my mother to rest and the service and treatment he gave my family and friends was exceptional. And we are a mix of religions, this man spoke the word of god to all of us that day and represented my Mother in a way that will never be forgotten. There are other priests who have hidden behind the church the touchers and feelers of their alter boys and have they been duly punished I think not and as the man above stated you should read up on this man and you should read the correct information. I believe he challenged the Diocese and tried to bring them into a new way of thinking so more people would become involved in a religion that is becoming less interesting to more and more people every day. Some one just told me there was an article regarding the knowledge in religions today. it is astounding to know that atheists are most informed about many different types of religions and yet for some reason they choose not to believe or be a part of a religious venue. Maybe they know something we don't, religion is what we feel in our heart and our minds.. The moral compass for some that guides us through the day. Have you checked yours lately?
