Father Peter Donnelly denies sexual abuse charges

Former Catholic priest Peter Donnelly, who is standing trial on six counts of indecently assaulting a girl and a further charge of gross indecency with a child, denied the charges when appearing in court this week in Ireland.

Opening the case against Donnelly, Crown prosecutor Kate McKay told a jury that the alleged abuse was carried out when the victim was aged around 10, up until her early teens.

Mrs McKay said the abuse started in the early 80s, when the priest used to hug her and put his arms around her, but this "progressed when he started to kiss and touch her physically."

I think there is a strong chance that this old pensioner will spend the rest of his miserable life in prison.
