Youth pastor Thaddeus MacMoran convicted

My inbox is full of stories. I did not even hear of the arrest of youth pastor Thaddeus Stephen MacMoran. He apparently molested a young teen.

MacMoran was a student ministry volunteer with the Lake Forest Church teen ministry. But a spokesperson for Lake Forest Church said the crimes occurred at another church, before MacMoran became a volunteer at Lake Forest.

Young adult males plus 13 or 14 year old girls = trouble. You would think churches would learn by now.

A priest close to any kids has to be seen as a "red light" of danger. Really, there should be laws enacted to keep clerics of any colour away from under 18's. These days, reverends. priests, imams, cardinals, rabbis etc must be kept separated from normal people and their children. If they want to offer "pastoral" services, the kids could get that standing in a paddock.
you people are incredibly wrong. ive known thad for 6 years and i know at least 50 other guys who have as well. he has never tried anything. i also went to the trial. the only evidence against him was the childs word. and his mother has also embezzled 27k from the company she worked for, and was in rehab for cocaine. and it was only ONE person to speak up about this.
I have also known Thad for quite some time. He was removed from leadership at another church after having been repeatedly told that he was not to have teenagers over his house. His unwillingness to submit to leadership and engage in adult relationships had me convinced something was Amis. I was not surprised at his arrest.
I went to Mosaic Church with Thad for several years. There were many complaints to the lead pastor about this behavior and nothing was done. Finally an associate pastor heard about the sleep-overs and removed him. Even after his dismissal he continued to have sleep-overs with 12-14 year old boys. When there was a church outing he’d show up with one as if on a date. Regardless of the warnings to parents, he seemed like such a nice guy, they trusted him. I also was not surprised at his arrest or the evidence or the verdict. This is justice but it will not unscar all the young men he damaged along the way.
