Hypocrisy Watch. Now with Sunday school teachers

I have a label called Hypocrisy Watch. It's what I should have named this blog long ago when I first started out, but I never intended to become a blogger. Deep Thoughts was originally my tribute to Jack Handy. I was so innocent back in 2004. Almost 6,000 posts later and Hypocrisy Watch is my favorite tag. It has over 1,400 posts, all of which deal with hypocrisy or clergy sexual abuse.

I typically don't follow the the sexual abuse cases of people who are not in the clergy. There are too many of them to track and I don't have the time to capture the sources and write the story. Payton Early Bostwick caught my attention though. He's a Sunday school teacher who allegedly raped a 10 year old relative. I planned on posting the story because of the level of hypocrisy involved in the alleged crime. A Sunday school teacher by day, a child rapist by night. It was irresistible. The man and the alleged crime are perfect examples of Christian hypocrisy. It gets better. Bostwick is an associate pastor at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. That makes him a viable target, so he joins the Clergy Sex Abuse clan with the rest of the hypocrites.

Bostwick is charged with a slew of crimes.

Bostwick was arrested on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 and charged with child molestation, aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, first degree cruelty to children, aggravated sodomy and aggravated sodomy of a minor.

It's important to keep an open mind, but the case does not look good. The police took their time building a case. The victim was under the age of 10 when the abuse started. Bostwick looks like a typical family predator and pedophile. Court is a long way off. He's bonded out for now. We will have to wait and see what happens.

It seems like as soon as one makes the decision to write about religion that one is going to end up focusing on hypocrisy quite a bit. I suppose they go hand-in-hand.

They do. I can't make is all bad new though. I need to post a
balancing story now and then. There are very good people doing good
work out there. They need recognition too.

Well well - this "self proclaimed" pastor moved into the house next door to mine in Kennesaw GA. Thinking it was about 2005, I was a single mom, and left my 13 y son and 15 yr daughter as latch key that summer. Ole Peyton Boswick, who lived with his wife and SIL evidently was watching my comings and goings for some time, and when he "knew I wasn't home" he knocked on the door - my 13y son answered, and he asked him to go Hiking on Kennesaw Mountain. (other than mowing their NASTY OVERGROWN LAWN with BAGS AND BAGS of old trash and rats living in that we had never spoken or met) my son got the creep-factor and said no, closed the door and bolted it. When I got home my son told me about that incident. I waited out in my chair for the SOB to come home and asked him why he would ask a minor he didn't know to go hike with him. (this was so far outside my comprehension- ) I cussed him out and told him never to step foot on our property again. His SIL Laura D, claimed I was crazy for thinking such a thing and went to various neighbors to verbally derate me. I talked to a friend of mine to see if I had misjudged (she was a NYC investigator) and she said absolutely not - tell the cops. So I went to Cobb County Police and filed a report. THey interviewed the guy and because he technically did nothing illegal (because my son closed the door) they had no grounds legally to charge him. I was adamant as a mom that this guy was a pervert. Long story short, Cobb Police Precinct 1 has a video recording of this guy being questioned. We were extremely careful after that failed attempt, and within a year, the SIL had defaulted on the house and they lost it. It was a trash hole when they left. Hard to believe this guy claims to be a landscape expert now - he was so busy in his perverted "ministry" of young boys then, he obviously didn't have time or motivation to cut the grass and remove household waste from the property. SHELLY DRIVE, KENNESAW GA. So as I stumbled upon the article about his molestation charges - I am not surprised at all. I am infinitely disappointed CCPD must NOT have done what they said regarding putting him on an watchlist - and the poor kid that was raped - my heart goes out to. I am a Christian and there is NO MINISTRY IN PERVERSION. These are deceivers straight from HELL.
