Pastor Keith Devon Pitts was convicted of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl. He faces 20 to 24.5 years in prison. Pitts did not have a chance. The jury saw right through his story. I don’t know why he did not try to cut a deal. He raped and impregnated the victim. There was little chance the jury would let him off for his crimes.
The conviction followed a five-day trial that ran throughout last week. Jurors deliberated for three hours Friday afternoon, recessed for the weekend, then reconvened Monday morning and reached the verdict before lunch.
