One of the happiest moments of my life came 16 years ago when we brought by son Michael home for the first time. I reclined in a chair with his small body resting on my chest while my wife slept. I can clearly remember thinking that I would die to protect him from harm. How could it be any other way?
Youth pastor Brett Sims and his wife Tabitha were arrested for contributing to the deprivation of minor. Their six-month-old baby was removed from their care and taken to a hospital with numerous health issues. They allegedly had been neglecting their own child.
Sims is the youth pastor at Honestville Baptist Church in Ooltewah.
