How many books did you read in 2010?

My boss hit me up with his reading list today. He read 31 book in 2010. I did not record my actual reads for 2010 so I killed some time this afternoon going back over the books on my Kindle, Audible, and my bookshelf. I know I have at least 14 because I’ve read the all of the Dresden files, including the collection of short stories. I counted 11 finished on my Kindle, plus 15 in my Kindle archive. I listened to 5 more books on Audible. And on the printed book side of things, I read 7. So that’s 52 for me.

The best: I am not Serial Killer by Dan Wells,The Maze Runner by James Dashner and The Checklist Manifesto by Atu Gawande.

The worst: The 4-Hour-Workweek by Timothy Ferries, The Cookbook Collector by Allegra Goodman, and The Road by Cormac McCarthy.

I’ve started of 2011 by finishing Dead or Alive by Tom Clancy and I’m halfway through Patient Zero by Jonathan Maberry.

As always, I am curious about what you are reading…

I read 60 and wrote short reviews here. I had a similar experience with McCarthy. Snore.

I read 25 books from August onwards. The best was Cory Doctorow's Little Brother, the worst were The Blood countess by Tara Moss and The End of Marking Time by CJ West

I use Goodreads to track my stats makes it easy to remember at the end of the year :)

I use good reads too... perhaps I should use good reads.
I read at least 40 (but may have missed a few in my tracking). My goal is to double that this year. I'm a Teen Services Librarian, so a lot of my reading is geared in that direction. Glad to hear The Maze Runner was good, I've been eyeing that one for the next few months. I did read a lot of "adult" books in 2010 too!

My favorites included:

* Confessions of a Praire Bitch: How I survived Nellie Oleson and learned to love being hated - Alison Arngrim
* Methland - Nick Reding
* Fever Crumb - Philip Reeve

Gah! I only read books I like, so really I loved them all.

I've started a Goodreads page, though it isn't very populated with my reads yet: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/4513542-anne

Oh, and I liked the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy... Little Brother was great (I read that one in 2009)

And I'm glad to see you didn't like The Road. I HATED IT!!! And post-apoc is my favorite genre. I couldn't finish it.

I threw my copy of the Road away. I could not even pass it one.
