Church volunteers accused of child molestation

This is an odd case, a young married couple who were active members of the Visalia Nazarene Church allegedly videotaped the molestation of a 2-year-old girl they were babysitting. Terry and Nicole Schneider are accused of making child porn.

The suspects and the victim's family were close friends. The victim's family says the crime happened five years ago on the one occasion they let Terry - or as friends call him- Lee Schneider and his wife Nicole babysit their little girl. The reason they're being charged now is because a friends only discovered a videotape of the crime this past week.

In an odd twist, an associate pastor found found the evidence.

The federal complaint against Lee and Nicole Schneider says that last week, the wife of an associate pastor at the Visalia Nazarene Church found a camcorder in her house she didn't recognize. The Schneiders used to live in that home. When she played back the video on the camcorder, Kristi Spaite told investigators she saw the Schneiders molesting a two-year-old girl.

It’s way too early in the morning for this type of news.

interestingly, this story was on front page of our local news which completely ignored the churchy issue.....and whammo here the story is on your site!

Federal prosecutors say the couple shot a sex video while the 2-year-old's mother was out getting a tattoo.

The Schneiders had been living in their travel trailer parked in the friend's driveway in Visalia.

The 43-minute video shows the little girl being inappropriately touched by Nicole Schneider as her husband zoomed in on the little girl's genitals

both front page headlining stories managed to whitewash the churchy couples'.... churchiness.

sfgate.com was reporting it giving hat tip to www.fresnobee.com as their source.

apparently it was the video cam that gets them busted while a year old FBI investigation went nowhere...reported at www.fresnobee.com

"A year ago, the FBI and Visalia police started investigating Schneider on suspicion of possession of child pornography after an external hard drive that contained pornographic images of children and had been left at the home of a friend was turned over to police."

Does anyone know whether the accused Terry Lee Schneider is the son of the former senior pastor Terry Schneider of that same Visalia Nazarene Church?

Yes, Lee is the son of the past pastor at the Naz. Also my friend said she was attacked by Terry Lee Schneider when they were kids at the church he locked them in a room and attempted to hurt the girls when her parents were pastors there and the church hid it and swept it under the rug. My friends parents soon left the church.

@Anonymous - Wow, that's scary! I'm not directly involved but I've been keeping up with this story and the connection with the Nazarene church and the fact that his dad is a pastor. Not that the dad is at fault, but this whole "sweeping under the rug" business makes me sick! Is the dad still a pastor?

Yes, I think he's a senior pastor at a Nazarene church in Sacramento somewhere...

Things are not always as they seem...I know these people personally and they are good loving people from good loving families. I have friends who have been sexually abused in childhood and had no idea how it would affect them later in life....just saying there is sometimes more to the story! Not trying to make excuses as innocent children are victims but maybe somewhere in their past they too were innocent victims!! Please do not judge the parents just because they were Pastor's - they did their best and raised their children with all the values they believed in but bad things happen to good people!! I for one will be praying for these families who were friends and the enemy has tried to destroy....but God is for us not against us...yet he knows all our hearts and none of us are without sin or pure motives.

Both Lee and Nicole were molested as children. If you've been the victim of child molestation and you have the urge to molest children yourself then you should get the help you need until you no longer have the urges or until you learn not to act on those urges. Nicole Schneider knows what she did was wrong, is ashamed of herself and is apologetic that she allowed herself to be manipulated into molesting the little girl at her husband's direction for his sexual perversion. Lee Schneider acts arrogantly like he did nothing wrong even if he pled guilty. Even though they weren't directly church employees this couple was very active with the youth groups at the Naz. Lee's old SUV could be seen at the church on a daily basis. So now there is proof that Lee and Nicole molested at least one child what is frightening is we will all wonder how many other children have been molested by one or both of them.

@Anon...
How do you KNOW that Lee and Nicole were sexually abused?! By who??? Do you know this for a fact or are you just making assumptions???

Unfortunately I am an ex-girlfriend of Lee and was a friend of Nicole's many many many years ago. His family was a loving and kind family that would do never hurt a fly.I know the victims family as well this is a terrible issue that has hit the church hard and just so you know there was NEVER any cover up of molestation happening in the church!

i once knew the couple or at least i thought i did. i was young when i met him and her at the church , they seemed like really nice people, we became close. he then offered to throw me and a friend a pool party, which he did. he also offered for the both of us to stay the night in their trailer(thankfully we never did). one day me and him were in the sound room at the church and he said it was alright if i took a nap on the couch in there. so i fell asleep im a very heavy sleeper and dont wake up for the life of me . i woke up about 20 min later and he was right there, staring at me. i felt wierd the rest of the night. for the past couple of years i have lived with the fact that i could have been that little girl and i could have been a victim but will never know. im 17 years old now and when i look back at how close we were and how touchy of a person he was with me at such a young age it really upsets me. so for who says there good loving people realize that theres choldren out there hurting from what they have done to them. that little girl was not just the only one, and i pray for all the little girls that they have hurt. ive had this on my mind for years and have never told anyone (not a soul)and i feel better knowing now that my story is out there.they were not good people, they were and still are sick, nasty, peoplewho need help and that will never change...

This breaks my heart when I hear news like this.....especially regarding innocent children.I'm especially saddened by this story because I know Lee's Mom and her family very well. They are good people....Christian families & I appreciate what was stated about not judging the parents. We do the best we can to raise our children to be good, honest, loving, decent human beings. If Lee & his wife were molested as children, that's devastating right there...then to see the children you love struggle with an emotional/mental disease that derived from sinful acts done to them.....If any of you Christians reading this, please pray for God to bring healing & restoration to all involved. Justice to be done, but grace & forgiveness to follow. Let us HATE the sin, not the sinner. Everyone is worthy of redemption in God's sight. Please pray! This is so very sad to me & breaks my heart.....& I know it would've broken Lee's grandma's heart if she were alive today. I have not forgotten the dear sweet children & their families & I mourn for them & pray for them as well.
