Pastor Joshua Wisdom arrested

Baptist pastor Joshua Wisdom was arrested in a sting operation for trying to purchase sex at a local hotel.

Wisdom, 37, was the minister of students at the First Baptist Church of Springdale and the Church at Pinnacle Hills in Rogers.

Church officials said they were shocked to hear of Wisdom's arrest.

Church officials say they made the “right decision” regarding Wisdom. Reading between the lines I would guess that means he was canned. He’s no longer listed on the church website.

And for what? He tried to use a hooker and got caught. Maybe he was going to witness to them?

Josh was a good man. Everybody makes mistakes. Get over yourself.

Was a good man? Did he kill himself? Why the past tense? And just to be obviously obvious, the everybody makes mistakes so why did you fuctards fire this guy thing... that was my point.
You are a moron Mojoey...obviously you know very little about what it truly means to be Christian. He was not fired, though in all likelihood he would have been asked to resign, he resigned of his own accord. Furthermore, he resigned because even he knows that his Witness to the kids he is a steward of is messed up now and he has to repair it. There are a lot of broken hearts in that youth group right now, and what may surprise you is the amount of love and kindness the Wisdom family is receiving from every one at our church. Don't talk about what you know nothing about.
The true nature of a Christian shows in the words they use to attack others. moron? A bit judgmental don't you think?

And what is the difference between being fired and being asked to resign? nothing.

Show him your love and then show him the door. That's love.

he chose to resign it. it was his own decision
it was forced
Of course it was. That is what they meant in their interview when they said, "We've made the right decision." You could almost hear them screaming protect the church.

Take a good look world and you wonder why people are dropping out of churches to do their own independent thing. It is the snarky , smart mouthed christian of america who live in a bubble of cult and culture who will attack you if you disagree with them.

take a good look at these smart mouths they really do insult Jesus.
To say the" true nature of a Christian shows" when you feel threatened, is just as judgmental as calling you a moron, the true nature of Christian is to hate the sin and love the sinner, even if they attack your true nature.
Not threatened, insulted. and if what you say is true, this Wisdom would still be a pastor.
In this day and age how can a single work from a blog insult anyone? I don't know if you realize this or not but I agree with some of what you are saying. The issue is that on both sides of the issue it's an all or nothing deal. He violated the trust of the church, and it is no different then if he had been working anywhere else, in a management position, he would have been asked to leave there as well. We all know that, but it is the church, so everyone gets to throw common sense out the window. I also think that a true community of faith, will embrace Josh and not just his family and show that while his actions may have cost him his position, his church and his pastors are still wanting to accept him as a man of faith. That is still to be seen
It's common for a real business to help people like Wisdom find a good counselor. He might be relieved of his duties for a while. He might have to eat some crow too, but compasion and understanding tied to good mental health services often turn drug addicts, sex addicts, and assorted assholes into better employees.
How do you know that that is not happening now? I have been in real business for most of my adult life, and you know as well as I do that there are companies that can not let you stay if your actions are in a direct conflict with what you sell. On the most base level the church is in the business of bringing Christ into the lives of people. That does not make it better nor worse, it just is fact. If in your job your actions will hurt your company, they will not keep you in your position. I agree that there should be someone in the community of faith to reach out to Josh and get him the assistance he needs be it counsel or a shoulder to cry on, and if the church does not provide that then they are giving amunition to the very people that wish to defame them.
Thank you! I have seen so many people Bash and critisize... but very few that I have seen have stood at his side, that is what people should see in christians, is the willingness and love to stand up for others even in thier greatest weakness! That is a true believer. You are an encouragement!
And to add to yours... Did Jesus judge and bash the prostitute, NO He forgave her, so are we yet better than God himself???
I was actually in his youth group and i cant even believe this. he really was a great guy, even if he was a bit strict at times. I think he shouldnt have been fired or have resigned, whatever the case may be. and no he did not kill himself. I honestly believe that he wasnt doing that for sex, but maybe to have a chance to talk that girl out of what she was doing. He is married with children, this just isnt something he would really do.
Sam your wrong. I went to this church for a year right when Josh joined as the youth minister. Him and his geeky sidekick (cant remember his name, but he was the second guy in command behind him and looked like a total tool) always told the kids in their service that they need to live like Jesus every day, and it seems to me that they were not living their life like they were preaching. Bad southern baptist church is bad, end of story.
It is pretty standard that when you care for someone you take them out of leadership to get them help. I have not seen anything un-christian from the church yet on this issue.
There are ppl that are in the church that are not perfect. Jesus said people will cry "lord lord" and will not enter the kingdom of heaven. It is clear that there are many hypocrites in the church and in many facets of life. Im not saying josh was just becase of this one event because i simply dont know him that well. It is disturbing that just a wk earlier he said he was striving to be more holy and be more like christ blah blah blah. There are many many people that claim to be christians and claim so much.i urge you guys to listen to this sermon.

also my dad always tells me. if you ever find a perfect church dont join it because you will ruin it. no body is perfect
Of course he was asked to resign. Common sense - would you trust a pastor that had been arrested for soliciting sex with YOUR 17 year old daughter? It's a reasonable thing to think he will no longer have that job. However, I'd bet he's still welcome at the church.
I Go to This Church and Pastor Josh (I'm not going to stop using his name as pastor he has been my pastor he will always be my pastor) is not a bad man he made a mistake and if you are a true christian or even if your not and you believe in GOD you should have FORGIVNESS you can say whatever you want about him but i will pray for him every night i love him i forgive him and everyone else should to im not gunna tell you what to think but i would appreciate it if all you haters would stop saying rude and mean things about him
