Pastor James Elliott pleaded guilty to sexual assault. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Elliott has been the pastor of the Church of Faith and Deliverance in Jacksonville.
“Being a pastor certainly raises eyebrows and you pay attention to it, but this was not a situation that arose out of a pastor and a parishioner,” State’s Attorney Chris Reif said.
