Mormons put a happy face on bigotry

What’s the best way to make the public forget your church is experimenting with social engineering? Distract them by telling a feel good story.

The LDS church spent its money in a deliberate attempt to deny our fellow American the right to happiness through its backdoor support of California's Proposition 8. Now they want us to think happy thoughts. Bullshit.

Sweet stuff. thanks.
They have to do these videos. If they don't they will start to ask themselves questions they know they can't ask.
No urge to become a mormon, but still, as a documentary photographer, very well done piece of crap. I watched all of them. The thing that struck me , and that I would have changed had I directed these, is that the "I'm a mormon" bit has absolutely nothing to do with anything shown up until then. For example, in the pediatrician one, a pediatrician does not need "christ like love" to do the work, and they don't explain how being a mormon helped the skateborder or journalist to excel in their fields. I need them to make a connection between that statement and these people's life. I would have tried to make a more direct connection to the benefits of Mormonism (as they perceive them) and the personal stories depicted. But I guess that would be difficult.

I had the same kind of response. Basically, "So? Why should I care?"
Instead of making all of these silly propaganda videos in an attempt to convince people they're normal, kind, decent folks they should just *be* normal, kind, decent folks.
No surprise there mojoey. The mormons organized and fought against womens rights, and civil rights too. Think about it. These are a people so devoid of love and natural affection they have to be commanded to spend one evening a week with their families. I find that bizarre and unbelievable. I spend every spare second I can squeeze out of life with my family, and we have so much fun together.
Buffy made a great comment, with which I agree wholeheartedly.
