He must be a menace to society. Otherwise, why would Judge Mathew Sabaugh set a $1 million dollar cash bond and make him wear a GPS tether? Baptist pastor Christopher Settlemoir stands charged with sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy. He faces up to life in prison.

The teen's mother went to the Warren Police Department last Thursday with text messages indicating the accused pastor allegedly had sexually assaulted her son. Settlemoir, who police say has been married for two years and has a 7-month-old daughter, turned himself in to police on Saturday, just prior to search warrants for the computers.

Settlemoir was the head pastor at Antioch Baptist Church and the principal of its school. The church and school website is down. It’s best to hide in these situations. Perhaps the public will forget.

Settlemoir is married with a new daughter. What a sad sad story.

Correction - Settlemoir was not the youth pastor, he was the head pastor.

Because the bail & other conditions are dependent on the severity crime charged and the risk of flight. They are not dependent on the likelyhood that he committed the crime.

I like what you are doing exposing all the pastors but please pay more attention to the way you do it.

Is it just me or are there more and more of these cases coming out lately? I don't go looking for them but just keep an eye on your blog. You seem to be posting more of these stories then when I first started reading your blog. Are people coming forward more now then they did 10 years ago or is it an increase inn the number of people committing acts like this?

Please report the facts correctly. He was arrested on Friday after making some admissions to the police. The police have two computers, one from his home and one from the church. Apparently there is incriminating evidence on these computers to validate the accusations. The police expect more children are involved. I am part of the fellowship of this church and in total shock that he is charged with these accusations. He is someone you would never suspect of harming a child. I know he is innocent until proved guilty, however, the more we are finding out the facts, the more I believe he is guilty of these criminal acts and he should be punished accordingly. I pray for the child and his family, the former pastor's family, and the church fellowship.

he wasn't the youth pastor.. if you can't even get that straight how am I supposed to believe you! ARRG!! i know the guy and don't like him so im not saying hes innocent or guilty but i just hope hope the truth comes out! its funny that people will say so much about him.. but not someone like Michael Jackson he just gets praised...

well first of all he wasnt found guilty yet..there was NO confession he never plead guilty... i mean i didnt even like him as a person i went to HS with him.. I also went to same college..

I don't believe everything the media says. ever. You shouldn't either. I'm not proclaiming his innocence. I'm just saying you really can't go based on the media. That's all.

He was two years under me, so I didn't know him particularly well at school. I can tell you from experience though, that the hateful, bigoted environment that we all lived through in that place could easily damage a person. Whether that takes the form of the suppression of one's homosexuality, I don't know. One of the tragedies here is that the piece of human trash Crabb has returned. Not the greatest tragedy, but one of them.

mostly well said. I am not a huge fan of Crabb, but I wouldn't call him human trash. I tend to think he himself got caught up in the environment as well.

I hope he did not commit any of these acts in a room you attend classes in or your classroom if you are a Sunday School teacher. It is a tragedy of such magnitude it defies description from any religious sect. Not all the accounts coincide with each other, thank you for posting the corrections that you have. They are helpful.

Please pray for the young wife and mother and the baby whose lives are devastated overwhelmed at this time because of the atrocities of this man. They need your love and prayers. They are innocent victims also.

It's been reported that Chris would call the boys out of class (since he wa also the principal) and the acts would then take place in his office. Has anyone stopped to think that the former Pastor George Crabb use to do the same thing, I know because I was there, so what was going on with him and those boys??? The church is a cult disguised as a baptist church. Through the years George Crabb wa there there were many lives destoroyed on every level. The other tradgety here is he wasn't put in jail for all the dishonest and wicked things he did. He didn't get caught because he was a lot smarter than Chris.

Who is the old man that shaved his head to look like the preacher & painted his house & automobile the colors of the preachers office? an ugly orange & brown & beige color? his grandsons were on the preachers bus & a little cross-eyed kid was sent to the door while the older boy stayed on the bus with teh preacher as "punishment". What was that about? Why was he punished & how? What did the preacher do to him on the bus? This guy is a creep from the crypt & I hope his ugly face never sees daylight outside of his cell again!! Can his wife get their marriage anuled? They must have accidentally had sex at least once together, they have a little girl, but can it be anuled for their sakes?

That would be horrendous! I hope she didn't, but if she did, he could have threatened, or intimidated, or harmed her so badly that she couldn't come forward.

I pray for the victims of this pervert. Chris's brother Ryan died a year ago from Swine Flu. Now Chris has shown what is in his heart. How much more can the heart of their mother take. She nor her husband are like their son. He fooled many, but not the LORD. Judgment must first begin at the house of the LORD.
