Youth Pastor Jeremy Fulton arrested

fulton Here in America, sex with a 12-year-old girl is considered amoral. Yet another Christian youth pastor allegedly failed to realize this distinction. Youth Pastor Jeremy Fulton was arrested for sexual assault. And guess what, he’s a Baptist.

Prosecutors say Fulton, a 27-year-old minister at Mariner's Temple Baptist Church, befriended the girl and had sex with her, sometimes daily, between July 2007 and October 2009.

Prosecutors believe there is at least one other victim within the church.

Sex with a 12-year-old daily over a two year period… that’s Baptist style Christianity at its best. Check out Mariners' Temple Baptist Church, it’s been around since 1795. Of course, Fulton is not mentioned.

I need a picture of Jeremy Fulton, anybody have one?

I followed a Google trail and found what I think is this guy's blog: http://conceptthoughts.blogspot.com/ I'm not absolutely sure that's him. I found this page, http://www.linkedin.com/in/jeremyfultonnyc, which has a link called "My Blog, which led me to the above URL. The latter link mentions an association with Mariner's Temple Baptist Church, although I don't see any mention of this guy being a pastor of any kind. If you click My Complete Profile on the blog it says he's 27.

It looks like it might be him, but I'd be careful. I'm not at all sure it's him.

He is not the pastor at Mariners'... nor is he even a member of the ministerial staff. I know, because I am. His affiliation with the church comes through the afterschool which is not run by the church, ut is under the same 501 (c) 3. I now see how well the media does at spinning webs...

He has a web page http://www.conceptualcoach.com and on the contact tab is a video with kids saying believe in your self, promoting the business. I wonder if any of these children are either the victim, or may be victims yet to be identified. If the victim is in the video, it should be removed.

Man, I used to work for him as a couslor back in 2006 for SYEP, and I was reporting that he was dating a young girl that was a head couslor which was werid because she was under age. I know he hated me for that but wrong is wrong my whole time working for him was misserable, I even called my mother b/c he was harrasing me on the daily bases, but my mother curse him out and than he stop harrasing me, he is such a jerk, thank god they got him. Now people believe me finally. I knew there was something wong with him from the start

I have known Jeremy for some time now. From what I have know of him and seen of him, these actions are something he just would not do. Additionally, he is not being held without bail. His bail was set last week at an fantastic amount that he could never pay. This is the legal systems way of making a person plead out, and it is sad. I don't know what happened, I was not there, however, please remember, in America a man is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Just as a side thought, about 5 years ago my cousin was accused of rape. He lost his job as a School saftey officer, was lock up and had to spend thousands of dollars to defend himself. For 2 years this young lady sad this happened, then one day she just told the truth. This is not always the case, but many people are accused, prosecuted and sent to trail with poor evidence against them, sometimes only an accusation. PLEASE, lets all save our judgement until after the process. In the mean time, all parties need our prayers.

They certainly have mine, both jeremy and the young lady.
God help us, God help us all.

Mr. Fulton used to be my 8th grade computer teacher and was also a gym teacher to my friends...i can't believe he did this...
I am a parent of a child that attended MEC afterschool for six years and over the years I have noticed a change in Jeremy. I can also confirm Jeremy dating a minor when my child started MEC and I did witness Jeremy inviting so of the school age children to spend weekends at his house. As a mother of two I found that kind of odd because it was a little girl but her mother agreed so it wasnt my business. I've also witnessed Jeremy slap one of the kids on her butt while she was lended over a chair talking to another child and he actual thought it was funny and acceptable behavior. There were times I really didnt know who was the "adult" and whom was the child. I honestly believe the child and think that Jeremy used the title "minister" to gain access into the lifes of the poor girls. I feel the church did not do enough to protect our kids. I remember they threatened to shut down the afterschool program after the 2006 incident, but didnt go into details as to why? Now I now why?

I know the gentleman Jeremy Fulton, it is true about the above mentioned that he is not a member of the Mariner's Temple ministerial staff. It is sad that in the day of such extroadinary technology that the media still can't seem to get their facts right.

I will say this, I don't know if he did it, I am hoping he did not. I am praying for him and the young girls family. I must say something has to change with how we approach cases like this. I have known Jeremy years, I have known him to be honorable, peacehul and faithful. I find it sad that people have drawn a conclusion with so little to go on. Above some of you sound as if this is a feeding frenzy looking for his photo to plaster all over the net, what happens if this is not true? What happens if this is false? How do we as a people then vindicate him and ease away from ruining someone's life? If he is innocent the way we have thrown his picture all over everywhere and spoken his name with such ease and convicted him based on hearsay his career of working in this field is over. We need to revamp how easily we throw away peoples' lives. It is unfair that young women are protected but men are not.

If he is guilty he should pay the cost. I must add that I find it very difficult to believe knowing him as I do, but it is true that sometimes we don't know a person. But I know this he and the young lady and her family deserve our prayers. And yes he was in a situation like this before but it was not rape, nor was it him forcing himself on a young girl, and he was not in his mid-twenies he was a teenager, and if that is going to be evidence then there are a lot of young teen boys who are going to jail where statutory is concerned.
Jeremy was my gym and computer teacher at a catholic school 3-4 yrs ago. I can actually say I expected this. He was very "friendly" with the girls and would touch their butts all the time as one would even pinch his nipples. He would think it to be funny and all teachers on the floor would never trust him. He would pull students out of their classes for hours and take them to his office to hang out. He inclusively told one of my classmates he had a crush on her and was eager for her to go to his room in the middle of an exam and after seeing how upset she was and that all her friends knew what he said, he must've gotten scared she would tell an adult and said he was joking but he had always been "extra" nice to her even giving her his home address so she could go stay over whenever fighting with her parents. She was also 12-13 years old when this happened. It must be a trend for him.
Mr. Fulton is guilty, however the place where he worked is not. Let's not take one mans actions and bring down that church. Mariners Temple is a very good church, which has numerous of programs for families, and businessmen in the community.

I have been in this community for over 5 years and during that time I have heard stories about this guy. Messing with little boys and girls....

Shame on him for using the church and its youth programs as his playground.

At the end of the day God is the only thing thats good, lets not put our guards down to the "men and women of God."

MTBC should not be prosecuted for the actions of a non-member. This man gained the tust of many parents. Thru the afterschool/summer camp he was in close contact with children. he preyed on them. he preyed on their parents. I know him personally, he was at one point one of my best firends. He used his position as a minister to help lower peoples defenses. I trusted him. What he did is not of God. Jeremy can no longer hide behind the cross. He will pay for what he had done. HE RUINED LIVES. HE STOLE THESE GIRLS INNOCENSE. HE IS SICK, NASTY & I AM GLAD THAT CAUGHT HIM. May he be punished for what he has done, however I know that it is not for me to judge him, God will take care of him and he will have to be held accountable. Hopeful as he has made things right with God, he can start a ministry in JAIL... Because that is where he belong....

You're all crazy! I happen to know Jeremy very well, but I would never be quick to judgement like some of you are doing. Wait, hear the facts, and then let's have faith that the truth will be revealed. And for all of you who seem to think that we care to hear you're personal opinions about Jeremy, remember first, "thou who is without sin shall cast the first stone." Your first reaction should be prayer. Enough said.

Leviticus 26:40-42 (New International Version)

40 " 'But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their fathers—their treachery against me and their hostility toward me, 41 which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies—then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin, 42 I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.
1 John 1:9: But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Romans 4:7: Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight.

Colossians 1:13-14: For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear son, 14who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.

Colossians 2:13: You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins.

Psalm 78:37-39: Their hearts were not loyal to him. They did not keep his covenant. 38Yet, he was merciful and forgave their sins and did not destroy them all. Many times he held back his anger and did not unleash his fury! 39For he remembered that they were merely mortal, gone like a breath of wind that never returns.

I've know Jeremy all of my life. I was in the same class as him from Kindergarten to 6th grade. He also lived in the same building I lived in all of my life. He was always eccentric, always not in the cool crowd and was always looked at differently. He started dating a girl in the building when she was really young, and I mean reallllllyyyyy young. Definitely before she was of legal age so the charges against him are not hard to believe. I honestly believe in the idea of being innocent till proven guilty but just the idea of being charged of a crime of this magnitude is just disgusting! I know for a fact the girl he was seeing from the building we live in was underage when he first started messing with her. I honestly should of said something about it then but it was none of my business. If he is guilty of the crimes he is being charged with I hope he spends the rest of his life in jail. I have a 5 year old daughter and would go to jail for the rest of my life if anything ever happened to her.

We met Jeremy at our church in the Bronx. He was a youth minister there who preached on occasion. He has interacted with my young daughters and I've never had reason to suspect him of any wrongdoing. He has even taken them out for lunch after service and ministered to them about boys. He was admired and respected by both girls. He acted more like a "big brother" type than anything else. When the news broke on tv, both girls were shocked as was I because this is not the person we know and have grown to respect in the ministry. I reserve my opinion until all the facts are known and I am thankful for our justice system that prevents him from being stoned or flogged in the street on an "assumption of guilt." Our family keeps all parties involved in prayer as should we all.
