Pastor J.P. Hale arrested

Pastor J.P. Hale is the pastor of Newbern Church of Jesus. He' stands accused of a sex-crime against a child.

Pulaski County Sheriff Jim Davis says Hale is charged with taking indecent liberties with a child. He's also facing a misdemeanor charge of sexually battery.

Hale is pastor of the Newbern Church of Jesus.

There was a sign posted on Hale's church Friday saying it was closed until futher[sic] notice.

A comment suggest there is more to the story, and more victims.

One detail that has not been brought up is that supposedly the pastor admitted everything to his congregation which led to the charges and other "victims" coming forward. I too, would like to give him the benefit of the doubt, and would hope someone in his position would not commit such heinous acts. Given what is known so far, I think it is looking more like he is guilty that innocent. Time will tell and the truth will come out!

I love the quotations around the word victim. it implies that the victims are not so innocent and that perhaps the pastor is not so guilty. I don’t know how people can think like this.

J.P. Hale is 73 years old and has been a pastor for 41 years.

J.P. Hale is no Pastor ! No one should ever hurt a child!!! What kind of person would think yhis is O.K. In gods image my ass. I don't think there"s a person a live today made in gods IMAGE!!!!!!!!!!
First, last time I checked, this is the United States, so people are presumed INNOCENT until proven guilty in a court of law.

Second, I'm sure there's plenty of athiests, angostics, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Bhuddists, in positions of authority or not that have been charged / guilty of child molestation. I'm not sure what the point of calling it out here is?

I'll make this brief. Christian tell me that I am amoral because I am not a Christian as if simple faith alone makes one magically moral. So I collect stories of Christian hypocrisy, especially clergy sexual abuse, to make my counter point. Being a Christian does not make one moral. It is what one actually does that makes one moral.
I went to this church and am kin to the pastor. He is complelely and totally guilty, trust me...I know. He just got another bond today..only $50,000. It's awful living in such a small town where he knows everyone and his daughter has such connections with the judges. I'm shaking with anger. This is no justice, he has ruined families and souls. The only thing that gives me peace of mind is to know that he will soon burn in Hell for what he has done. God is the only one who can give him justice. Those who don't know the whole story, please be respectful and considerate!

I do know the whole story and I'm close kin to the man. My thought is why did the congregation allow this to proliferate for so many years! The church had no checks and balances in place to prevent this - NONE!
For you to have "peace of mind" that someone will "burn in Hell" is despicable and completely "unchristian." It makes me doubt whether you truly know Jesus...could you ever imagine Jesus saying such a horrible thing?

A true Christian knows that salvation is obtained through grace alone. If you've broken even ONE of the commandments, you've broken them ALL...we're all equally guilty before God. (And I'm kin to the pastor as well).
An atheist went to court in Florida to sue the state for an atheist holiday. After careful consideration the judge determined that atheists already had a day reserved to celebrate their pseudo religion - APRIL 1st "All Fools Day". Enough said!
It's no ones fault but his, don't put blame into people's hands who don't deserve it.
