Pastor Faces Rape Charge

The wheels of justice are turning for former pastor Edgar Franklin.

A Pine Bluff pastor accused of raping a 16-year-old girl was in court Friday morning.

Forty-three-year-old Edgar Franklin, Sr., who is a pastor at the New Bethel Number One Outreach Ministry in Pine Bluff, was charged with one count of rape.

The victim in this case is his 16-year-old stepdaughter. She was 14 when the abuse started. The age of consent in Arkansas is 16.
