Waco pastor possess child porn

This is a bizarre story. Henry Edgington, a pastor at the Elm Mott Church of Christ in Waco, Texas has been arrested on seven counts of possession of child pornography. The porn was found in a locked box in the pastor bathroom by his son's fiancee. Edgington claims to be doing research in an effort to try and get child pornography sites off the Internet.

Something smells fishy. Why would anyone keep pornography in his bathroom? Anybody... anybody...(do I need to paint a picture?). Or, how could his son's fiancee find the pornography if it were in a locked box? Or, how come nobody knows about his crusading efforts to shut down child porn sites until after he was caught. Or, how come he surfed porn at the Czech Inn (with free high speed Internet access) where he worked part time?

This is my favorite snipit:

Asked about the group in Florida, Edgington said it is not an official organization but rather a network of child advocates, including ministers... [sounds fishy, no?]

In his defense, he is a father and grandfather. Oh, and lets not forget that he is a pastor. I guess that's why his church is standing behind him. How could an upright man like Edgington do something so heinous?

My prediction - Edgington is headed for the big house. At 63, he's going to have a tough time.

That's two cases I've heard about for the first time today. So far, it's running about three a week.

Sickening.

You raise a very interesting question: how did his son's fiance find it? I'm no longer surprised by corrupt clergy, but that detail strikes me as odd.
