Nutball Alert: Mayor Jim Naugle

Fort Lauderdale has a major nutball in the person of Mayor Jim Naugle. I've watched Naugle ever since he took a slap at the Atheist community by renamed the ACLU the Atheist and Criminal Lobbying Union, now he's resurfaced as a homophobe. He wants to by anti-gay robotic toilettes at $250,000 each in order to prevent what he calls illegal gay sex.

Naugle says that "homosexual activity" is plaguing public restrooms at the beach.

The conservative Christian mayor tells the Sun-Sentinel that the washrooms are pickup places for gays. "They're engaging in sex, anonymous sex, illegal sex," he said.

The police department does not agree.

Sgt. Frank Sousa. tells the Sun-Sentinel that while there may once have been a problem it isn't today.

"There's no evidence, no reports or arrests made for any men having sex in any restrooms," Sousa told the paper.

Why is Naugle asking the city to spend a quarter million dollars of public money? Naugle believes being gay is a sin. He's a fundie who is willing to legislate his religion's moral position through enacting laws and frivolously spending public money. He is targeting the gay community in this case, we already know how he feels about Atheists. I wonder if he knows there are gay Atheists.

Gay atheists! No! What has the world come to?!

*sigh* Seriously, what has the world come to when people can actually think like Naugle? That's insane! It's all about his fundie street cred. I'd put everything I have on this decision being made based on purely religious sentiment.

I'll put my money up too. This guy did this because he is a fundie.

I've read a few reports on this guy before. He needs to read your blog and find out where the real sex offenders are. Sure as hell aren't doing adult consensual pick-up in public washrooms.

I applaud Mayor Naugle. I can't bring my kids to South Beach because of all the flaunting faggots, so he is just trying to prevent that from happening to his great city. And about the ACLU, I agree again with the mayor, they have screwed up our country long enough!!!

As a Republican, I can't believe I support a Democrat, but in his case, he is the best!!!
