Playing to a crowd of 30 (maybe 40), Hal Sparks of Queer as Folk, lights it up with his band "The Hal Sparks Band", he was playing a passable Hendrix “All along the Watchtower” when I walked up. He transitioned into a tune I did not recognize, but it too was pretty damn good. I think it might have been an original. The gig was in Long Beach at the Pike, outside at about 7:15 p.m. The crowed was mostly media types (there was a gamers event going on in Game Works, the World Cyber Games 2004), and teenyboppers.
