The dumbest religious quote of the week goes to Rep Christy Perry

State Rep. Christy Perry, R-Nampa

Perry opposes a law that requires parents to seek medical attention for their children. You know… it’s anti-faith healing, which is anti-Religion. Perry fears it will trample religious freedom and a parent’s right not to have their children medically treated.

The quote

"This is about religious beliefs, the belief God is in charge of whether they live, and God is in charge of whether they die," said Perry. "This is about where they go for eternity."

It's 2014 folks. If you kill your kids because of some ill-conceived faith in your god, then you need to spend some time in prison and your children need better parents.

As for Christy Perry, I think she just joined the nutball list. Children die because of this stupidity. She should be drummed out of office in disgrace.

Amen!
Allowing a child to die when medical treatment is available ought to result in a charge of homicide. That such an act might be motivated by one's religious beliefs seems to be of little relevance if the result is a dead child.
