Youth pastor Joshua Earls arrested

Baptist youth pastor Joshua Earls was arrested on charges of indecency with a child. Earls is alleged to have forced a girl to touch him while at a hot tub bible study.

In an affidavit, police say during a bible study swim party last April or May, Earls was sitting next to the girl in a hot tub when he grabbed her hand and put it in his swim trunks.

Joshua Douglas Earls

Seriously now Baptists, are hot tub swim parties with teen girls and young youth pastors a good idea?

Earls was employed by Arapaho Baptist Church in Garland until his resignation earlier this year. His brother, Jordan Earls, is also a person of interest in the case. Jordan was adult volunteer at the same church.

I attend the church that this happened and our church is committed to helping the police and student involved. I know Josh personally and there is no excuse for what was done. I totally disagree with the statement that Youth Pastor is synonomous with Child Molesting sex pervert. This is not the norm and his behavior is not acceptable and the reputation of our church is of no importance when it comes to protecting our students. He will be judged here as well as in Heaven

I also know him and im completely shocked

Also it isnt just youth pastors...its all men
Please have some compassion and remember, these families are hurting and this isn't nearly over yet. These girls will have a long haul ahead of them, with court proceedings and many months of counseling. What you're hearing in the media is just the tip of the iceberg, there is so much more yet to be revealed and the public doesn't really have any idea of the cases involved. One of the main causes of psychological damage in these situations is all the guilt that these sick perverts put upon these girls and the grief the parents suffer through. Blaming the victims is not going to help. All it's going to do is cause more pain. These monsters have hurt enough people already.
"Any parent who would entrust their child to a Youth Minister is a moron. I'd rather entrust my kid to the town drunk"
And is this a viewpoint that has compassion for the families? Calling them morons?

Hey Dromedary, do your kids go to school? If so, you entrust them to a population of adults that, statistically, have the same incidence of molestation that churches do.

Are you daring to say that your children would never be the victim of abuse because you know how to keep them out of harms way? Are you that arrogant! You are saying very inflammatory things, without knowing all the facts, hoping to do what? If you are angry, be angry at the molesters who committed the offense. Are you a parent? If you are, you should know that all the parents involved are second guessing themselves right now, they are all struggling with guilt because, as parents, it is our job to protect our children. They don't need arrogant, nearsighted, trolls like you heeping more of it on them.

You are entitled to your opinion, of course. But I'm just as entitled to say that you are an arrogant, nearsighted, cuss for that opinion!

There, I feel better now. :)

If I may, I would like to weigh in and perhaps bring some calm and some perspective to this "debate". Let us step back for a moment and stop all of the name calling and unfounded accusations.
Now, this is obviously a tragic event. There is a young girl and her family and a young man and his family that have been put into a terrible situation. Let me first point out though, that here in America, in the criminal justice system, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law before a jury of his/her peers. Now, please understand, I am not saying that what Josh is being accused of did or did not happen. Do any of you that have commented know ALL the facts? continued

Now, let us look at the young girl and her family. If this is true or not, this young lady will have to deal with this event for a long time(again, I am not saying she is being untruthful, but I do not have all the facts, just what I hear on the news). She will need a lot of love and support from her friends and family and church. To say that her parents were foolish for allowing her to “be with a youth pastor is just asking for trouble” is not fair. As mentioned in other responses, this world is full of adults who prey on children, both grown men and women on both young boys and girls. I find it sad that when someone from the "church" falls, the vultures swarm as if they are not allowed to stumble. Trust me on this one, although many would like to believe it, Christians have not cornered the market on terrible deeds. And I would also point out, that to say that this is all GOD’s plan is absolutely ridiculous. GOD has given us free will. We make our own choices, not GOD. I assure you that Hitler was not GOD’s will. We are free to love HIM or deny HIM. We are free to do as we please. But do not be mistaken, there will be consequences for our actions. continued
. I also am saddened how some have referred to Josh as a "monster". Again, has he been proven guilty by a jury of his peers? If he did do this, then yes, that would be reprehensible. But, and I know some will throw up their arms in dismay, but what do you think would be JESUS' response? Do you think he will damn Josh to hell if Josh repents and asks for forgiveness? Should this young girl hold hatred in her heart for what was done? Does not hatred destroy one’s own heart? Please do not look upon us Christians as all morons and mindless followers of some person named JESUS. Yes, there are many that perhaps do not walk the talk, but there are so many more who do. As with any group of people, there are the few who do not represent the majority, but for the detractor’s sake, these are the people who are focused on. continued
I too, know Josh. I have actually served side by side with him. Is he a good man who loves the LORD? Yes, I believe so. If he did what is purported should he be punished? Yes, I believe so. Should he be judged here on earth? Yes, but ONLY by a jury of his peers in a court of law. With the past transgressions in my lifetime, I certainly do not want to judge someone else for their transgressions. Will he be judged in heaven? If he asks for forgiveness, JESUS died so all can enter the kingdom of heaven through the forgiveness of their sins by the death and resurrection of JESUS of Nazareth. Yes, he will be forgiven. continued
I do, however, find the silence from Arapaho Road Baptist Church deafening. As far as I know, there has been no call to prayer for this young lady and her family or for Josh, Jordy, and their family. There has been no statement from the church that I know of except a statement from a church “spokesperson” on the news that basically said that Josh “never showed this side of himself”. I am a member of A.R.B.C., and I am very disappointed in their response. But again, I do not judge, as I do not have all the facts.
Please do not attack people for their beliefs. Just as we have our beliefs, you have your beliefs. And I for one will not attack you for believing one way or the other. May GOD’s mercy and love be showered upon all the people involved with this terrible event.
And yes, in the Christian belief, satan does seek to destroy those who have a good heart and strong witness. Again, was this GOD's will? No. Will GOD bring good out of this evil? Absolutely, for all who trust in the LORD. Through prayer and trust in HIM, all will come out of this stronger.

I always thought it a bit strange that these 2 men were at functions with one of the girls that were not related to any church activities. It appeared to me that the mother was encouraging a strong friendship between her young daughter and 2 grown men. She is certainly under age, but it makes me wonder if the activities were consensual.
I know this guy I have know him and his parents longer than any of yall and he not that way I blame the girl she should go to jail he is not guilty
