Penn Jillette: Don't Leave Atheists Out on Christmas

Christmas is a secular holiday just as much as it is a religious holiday. Let’s call it an inclusive American holiday and be done with it.

This is one of the few cases where I'm grateful for the ignorance about atheists, as I'd rather have nothing to do with Christmas.

vjack - come on out to SoCal and celibate the holidays with me. We'll drink good beer and eat better food, and then head out for some disc golf. It's all good man.
I lurve, lurve, lurve Xmas! British Xmas, Spanish Xmas, Irish Xmas, and Italian Xmas. It goes on. It was first a pagan holiday that in the time of the Founding Fathers was outlawed to a certain extent in some colonies as the tree was considered a little too Germanic pagan--oh yes, German Xmas!! Oh Tannebaum, oh Tannenbaum la LA la la, lalala.

As an atheist,I appropriate all the good of Xmas, the spirit of peace on earth, good will toward men. For fun, google British Christmas customs. They take place during the entire month of December, and most have nothing to do with baby jesus.
