Lisa Scale of Bella Photography won the distinguished Deputy Minister of Nation Defense award for Photography. Heck, I’m an American and this make me feel patriotic. It pushes all the right buttons and is a good photo too.

I wanted the image to evoke a powerful message of both strength and national pride. It seems to me that alot of people in our country are too busy to take time 1 day a year to remember those who fought for our freedom, this portrait was my way to remind them that our freedom comes at a cost. We need to show gratitude to those are willing to serve their country. Thanks for sharing this image.
