Youth worker Christopher Cormack convicted

Christopher Cormack was a youth ministry at a Lawrence, Kansas church where he molested a 13-year-old girl in his youth group. He was convicted for the crimes in 2008 but was granted a new trial over faulty jury instructions. He pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of indecent liberties with a child.

The down side is that Cormack is essentially a free man. Granted, he will carry the stigma of a being a register sex offender, but he raped a 13-year-old girl. I think a long stretch in prison is a better alternative.

You are a fucking idiot!!!! He did not rape a 13 year old girl. He screwed up and slept with a 16 year old girl. Although in poor taste, not against the law. The "victim" lied because she didn't get what she wanted and ruined his life. Her older sister did the same thing. Get your facts straight.

While the facts above are clearly mistaken, it is more than a "screw up," it is an abuse of power. Anyone who does not understand this belongs nowhere near the ministry.

Let's be clear. He ruined his own life by the poor choices that he made. Had he been so convinced about the legality of his actions, he would not have seen the necessity to lie his way through an extensive candidacy process to cover up his own actions.

He ruined his own life, and he is now living in the consequences of his own actions.
