Pastor Barry Cook arrested

The pastor at Christian Life Church of Montgomery, Alabama, was arrested for sexual torture and aggravated child abuse.

…Cook was a minister at the Christian Life Church of Montgomery. A spokesman with the church tells us Cook resigned Monday citing personal reasons. The spokesman wouldn't confirm the position Cook held.

Alabama Law states sexual torture is a class A felony.

Child Protect in Montgomery is an organziation that assisted law enforcement in this case. Director Jannah Bailey says she is shocked the accusations were made against a minister.

Shocked? Directory Jannah Bailey must not read the papers. A pastor is just as likely to abuse a child as anyone else. I’m guessing children in Alabama are not as safe as they could be.

We have read and re-read many personal "opinions" of what is or what isn't the truth about Pastor Barry Cook. As former members of the Ambassador Church in Oceanside, CA (from its inception), Pastors Barry and Terri Cook were ( and still are) loved and respected as a man and woman of God. No one, we repeat..."no one"... knows the real facts of their divorce or Pastor Barry's current situation. We are shocked by the lack of compassion from all sides and the lack of Christian love and restoration which Jesus taught. None of us have any right to 'judge'. There is only ONE judge and only He is allowed to do that. Yes, we all must pay the price for our choices in life but in this evil day and age we find ourselves in, the enemy is more than happy to accuse the bretheren especially when it involves church ministers. Let us all seriously look at (John 8:7) 'Let Him Who Is Without Sin Cast the First Stone' and above all..."Restore Your Brother In Love (Galatians 6:1) . .

In the same breath of the Word it also says don't be ignorant of Satan's devices. As the body of Christ we have to wise up! Our relationship has to be rooted and grounded in love but we also need to be wise as serpents. We have placed too much emphasis on the men and women of God in the key positions which has exuded so much pressure that if they fall we are quick to allow our walk so to speak to crumble. Let's put the emphasis back on Christ, honoring him and loving like him and being wise like him, so if things like this happen there still stands a strong nation of people who represent God well. Sin is sin and God is the judge of that but wrong is wrong and whatever causes an individual to fall God is able to restore! The Church needs to stand on God alone and stop putting such stresses on man who have the capability of falling.

What makes you think you have the full story in which, last I checked, has two sides. If you consider yourself to be a follower of the Jesus Christ known throughout the world, I wouldn't know it, I would consider you to be one of attempting to take His steed.

I agree with not judging but do not be ignorant!!!! I went to Ambassodor Family churches last 6 womens conferences!! I belong to a very strong church and we serve a great Man of God and I always said that if somenthing like this were to happen in our church how wouldl I react, because its a hard pill to swallow! I really believe that Apostel Barry Cook is a Man of God but that he's also human and has flesh just like we all do! That's why the the Word of God says in Gal ^: that if a man be over taken in a fault let those who are spiritual restore them with a spirit of meekness concidering ourselves. The Lord will expose you!! not condem I pray that if my Husband, Pastor, Bishop and even my self don't fall in this manner. but if they do we would all pray for them and love them! if you choose to sin you will pay the consecuences! This is my thought and my oppinion but as a christian women lets not be ignorant!! SIN IS Stiill SIN!! but where SIN abounds GRACE more so abounds!!!!!

yes well no one can really prove the situation therefore left in question. but the only true person who knows whats really going on is God. therefore we should leave it in Gods hands to judge and expose who he is and what hes done. but everyone sins and there are worse cases out there. even though this situation has occured we need in conclusion to still be aware of who and whats out there even thogh he may or may not have done anything to the 12 yr old boy. therefore we should rest the case in the lords hands.

There's an old saying that sin will follow you wherever you go. you can't run from sin. Sin will be exposed no matter where you go.Oceanside with baby drama, and it looks like 7 times more stronger in Alabama with now hurting children. Barry needs to get saved, and yes he has fallen short ALOT!! Should he be considered a minister of the gospel...was Judas considered a minister of the gospel after he sinned and denied the father? No he was not. I'm just going to call him Barry from now on. Thats really all he is, just Barry not a so called APOSTLE ...WHATEVER. I was a member of AFC since the beginning and i never considered him an apostle.

I've not found any (Christ) in any of these comments until the one from the "Roses". God Bless you and thank you for speaking my heart in this. You truly have the heart of Christ in this. Remember it is Lucifer's job to KILL, STEAL & DESTROY. Be careful how you speak or whom you judge.
Personally:
I have had direct intense conflict with Dr. Cook and have known his family for over 15 years. In the conflict, it was Dr. Cook who maintained and lifted Christ in the situation, the entire time, never once did he give up ...... without really knowing all the details of what I was going through, not judgement but compassion and love.
May I suggest we re-examine our hearts..don't forget we are in a battle people.....know where you stand on that battle field.

I use to go and stil go to pastor barry church it was and still a great church that tells it like it is I believe that the devil is a liar and Jesus know what he is doing with pastor barry who I believe js still a great man of God. Like the bible said man without sin cast the first stone. We ahould pray for this man with the love of God their is to much of this crap of thing of themself abd not look outside the box and know there are thousands of hurting people in this world that need God and we are here kicking a man of God when he's down instead of praying for him Iam so sick of these people who say that they are christians and treat others and even there loved ones with hate people should look at themselfe before they start to judge others. I wonder if this story would have been half as interesting if it had been reported accurately... If there were no child abuse allegations would any one care? Would you be interested in reading a story about an unstable woman who realized that she couldn't control her husband so she decided to destroy him? Probably not... No sense boring everyone with that.

As a person who totally believes that it takes two to tangle, I have been bothered by the recent events surrounding Dr Barry Cook which occurred March of this year. There is no mistaken that the pot has been stirred up many times, and not in his favor. However, with these recent events, I just can't believe the information that has been streaming the media. This was a call for action on my part to find out what the heck was going with this Man of God. After getting in touch with a few peeps in California, I was totally floored when I found out that Dr Cook had married Carolyn Rizzotto. There are many things to be said about the past years, and the controversy sounding it, but my God....

I know he would not NEVER I MEAN NEVER do anything to a child. God is going to restore him you watch and see and his testomony is going to off the chain then what will all of you have to say. Yes there has been sin. The call on this mans life was BIG and yes the devil tried to take him all the way out BUT GOD! It's not over he is not in the ground the devil could not kill him. He is going to get it right believe that!

I am saddened by the news. I and my wife were joined in marriage under God but by Dr Cook at Ambassador Family Church. I am not going to say anything about the accusations accept that I don't believe he has done the things said. Just know that Dr Cook has lead so many people to Christ and that Satan will be after him his entire life for it. I do not take sides. I know Carolyn and I know Terri as well as all the other members from AFC in Oceanside. I'll be praying for them all. Please don't speak against a man of God less you're looking to offend God.

I appreciate all of the support of Barry Cook but you really all need to worry about your own lives. Posting articles and commenting about people's mistakes and wrongs isn't fair to the person in question and the family. Offer grace not condemnation. God doesn't condemn nor judge you so why must you put others on the chopping block. His mercy is everlasting and eternal. Im sure you all have drama in your family and you dont see people digging around in your business and posting it all over the internet. I recommend you all focus on moving forward and being successful in your own lives.

God Bless You Joy ! You probably don't remember me-but I met you years ago in Oceanside.
It is a biblical FACT that "where the call of God is VERY STRONG that the devil throws up VERY STRONG opposition trying to stop all aspects of that calling.

Every one of you reading this blog NEEDS to PRAY for Pastor Barry and his family.

God is in "no way" done with ANY of us yet. He BLESSES humble and OPPOSES the proud.

I wish I could have accomplished HALF of the GOOD that I KNOW Pastor Barry accomplished in previous years-that the devil is absolutely FURIOUS over !

God Bless to ALL reading this.

The days of Luke 21:36 are upon us-now. Pray. Pray HARD !

Why are you still keeping this article in circulation continually to discredit Dr. Barry Cook.

I am a close friend of Dr. Barry Cook. Dr. Cook was my Pastor in California, and now
he has been my close personal friend for over 12 years. I have assisted Dr. Cook on many occasions and for the last 7 years have become his Assistant in all church projects from California to his move to Montgomery, Alabama. I moved to Alabama, shortly after this incident standing with Dr. Cook during this ordeal. Many have asked why I would drop everything to relocate with the information that was presented. My answer has always been because Dr. Barry Cook is innocent of the charges that
are being brought against him; I believe this to be true without a shadow of a
doubt.

The media has neglected to retract some vital information, once it was found out that the situation was a domestic dispute, which Christian Life Church’s spokesperson confirmed and not the alleged crime Dr. Cook was accused of. The individual who reported this information fabricated the story with many depths of fiction. There is no report anywhere
that Dr. Cook, hurt anyone, this including a child. The spokesperson for
Child protection made a statement accusing Dr. Cook of a crime that was not
investigated without clear facts.

Unfortunately, I have realize first hand that in Montgomery
Alabama if you are arrested for anything your name is placed in a data base
given to law enforcement publications and sent out, this all before an
arraignment or trial. Once accurate information is presented then your name is
removed however it takes money out your pocket to hire more attorneys to remove
the stuff already circulating on the web and newspapers...sad but true

Again, I have stay close to Dr. Cook concerning this matter.
I also wanted to add that Dr. Barry Cook is a very talented, Highly
Gifted Ministry, a wonderful father and a great Man of God, who is loved and
appreciated. There have been many people who saw this story and were angry.
Those who know him knew the truth, and have stood with him during this time,
being persistent in contacting the county and attorneys researching all truths
and believing in the person they know and love.

Many people have their own opinions but it is important to search the facts, find the truths; don't use this article to destroy Dr. Cooks credibility, who is a pillar
of the community and most of all devoted Minster of God’s word. I am very much disappointed in Christian Life Church, not speaking up for Dr. Barry Cook. Dr. Barry Cook has been associated and has traveled back and forth to Montgomery for many years preaching at Christian Life Church. Just as I know working closely with Dr. Cook for over 12 years…Dr. Cook is innocent. Christian Life Church and its members know of his innocents yet have decided to be silent on this matter. I don’t understand why CLC
would close the door on this Man of God who within a year working day to day at
Christian Life Church Dr. Barry Cook was responsible for the growth spurt of
50% of Christian Life Church’s members.

I don't understand why you would post something that first of all incorrect and second over and done with. All charges were dropped and she was the one that was at fault for being a pathological lier. There was no evidence and after all these years they have had to drop the case. Make sure you know the facts and the person before you put all articles out like this...
