Nutball Alert: Rep. Bobby Franklin

Bobby-Franklin-199x300Georgia state Rep. Bobby Franklin is an anti-woman fundie nutball. Here is why.

Not to mention that he is virulently opposed to gay rights, wants to abolish public schools, wants to abolish driver licenses, and, he thinks Georgia’s bills should be paid in gold or silver.

He’s a devout Christian who thinks America has strayed from its biblical roots. Which translates to - he is a fundie who thinks we should live by his insane moral code. It’s men like Franklin the keep me writing this blog. They want to legislate our lives by an obsolete moral code that turns women into chattel and makes gay Americans fear for their lives.

Vote him out of office. I’ll donate to his opponents, all of them.

Well, of course, if miscarriages become illegal (itllneverhappen) then Gawd will be going to jail-cause 'he's' the reason for everything. Surely, dude is nutball of this week, and many more weeks to come.

Well, at least he's being consistent. If you believe abortion is murder, you should also believe it should carry the penalty for murder. Consistency is a good thing if you're being consistent with reality. Otherwise? Not so much.

Yes mike..i read the article. He wantsabortion to be a capital crime. Now.. WTF does that have to do with miscarriages being a police/legal matter? Or calling rape victims "accusers"? Given his anti-woman position and utter distain for women as equals, how does THAT come into the "consistency" you referenced? or did you just pick that out of the article in order to find something that was "consistent" with his abortion stand, and ignore the rest of his fucking idiocy?

Dang, Hump, I'm confused. Why the rant? Are you not understanding my point? I'm not commending this guy for anything. I'm just saying that his position on abortion leads logically to the craziness he's talking about here. If he's going to say abortion is murder, then it's at least consistent that he should also say that people involved in abortions should suffer the consequences for murder. (Most anti-abortionists seem not to have even thought about it.) And that exposes how nutty he really is. He's being consistent with his own philosophy, but not with reality.

Mike, perhaps we were talking at cross purposes. I was less concerned about the abortio n issue than I was about the miscarriage and rape issues.

Yeah. I think the real lunacy here is that he's basically trying to make women have to prove they had their miscarriages spontaneously. How do you prove something like that? If it's early enough in the pregnancy, the woman herself might not even know it happened. We'd have to invent some kind of gadget that women are forced to wear. This thing will constantly monitor the state of their uteruses and send the data back to a central database where....

Give Bobby Franklin credit. He does not hide his ill intent toward our country and our freedom.

"Bobby Franklin is a Republican. His official biography on the Georgia General Assembly's website reads: "“Representative Franklin has been called ‘the conscience of the Republican Caucus’ because he believes that civil government should return to its biblically and constitutionally defined role.""
