Pastor Charles Abdelahad arrested

The Very Rev. Charles Michael Abdelahad stand charged with the rape, assault and battery of a 43-year-old woman. The priest allegedly bit and beat his victim.

A statement of facts on file in court states the Rev. Abdelahad beat the woman on different occasions dating back to 2007.

The priest allegedly bit and beat the victim during at least one assault. Detectives also allege he struck her with a religious icon and bat and scratched her on the stomach with keys.

In a criminal complaint, Detective Maureen M. Siedlecki accuses Rev. Abdelahad of pulling the victim's hair, slamming her head on the floor, sitting on her and punching her in the head during one alleged assault, according to court records.

It sounds liked Abdelahad liked rough sex. Who knew? Is that good behavior for a Christian and long time pastor? I don’t think so.

Abdelahad was the pastor of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester, MA.

The Very Rev. Father Michael Abdelahad has been a beloved pastor of the St. George Cathedral family for more than 25 years. As the matter is the subject of formal court proceedings, to which the Church is not a party, it would be inappropriate for us to make any further comment until these proceedings have been concluded.

Are you joking me?
You don't even know this man! And the articles ALL fail to talk about the 'victim' in this case and how she is crazy. She has been hospitalized many times for mental illnesses, her kids were taken away from her because she was deemed unfit to live with them, and she has accused her ex-husband AND husband of rape before.
I'm pretty sure the victim here is not the woman at all, but the priest being accused of all of this!
There is much more to this story. Wait til it comes to trial before you form an opinion. Father Michael is innocent.

Father is innocent. We have known him for MANY years, and he is the most loving, calm, patient person I have ever met. He wouldn't dare lay a hand on anyone, and a woman no less. This woman is a mentally ill and attention starved disgrace. Everyone in the parish knows it. It is so unfortunate that she has broken not only this poor man's family, but his whole life, which he has dedicated to others. I recommend that before judging and writing garbage like this, you do your research. Imagine yourself in this situation. A crazy person comes out of nowhere and accuses you of these heinous crimes. Stop judging, it's not good for you.

Guess the judge that found his guilty and sentenced him to jail disagrees with you. Nothing innocent about this man and either you are best friends with this guy and lying for him (as did the witnesses for him during while testifying under oath!) to help your buddy out, or you don't know him at all and are merely trying to fit in with his cult club. Regardless, you don't know anything about the victim and if you attended the trial, it would have been very clear that "a crazy person" did NOT come out of nowhere. Wake up and stop being so influenced by the small group of loyal kool aid drinking followers of his.

Please stop making the statements of people who decide to call attention to themselves "truth sayers." The accusation is untrue, the man is good and honest, the woman should pray for forgiveness and get help. Father Michael will stay strong his faith is unstoppable.

First of all, no one here spends 24/7 with this priest. As a result, you do not know what he does every moment of the day. Second of all, it would seem obvious to aware people by now that predator priests do not prey on healthy, well-connected individuals. They prey on people who are troubled, unconnected, disenfranchised, and unbelievable. That should be a big DUH to all of you here who say he's the next best thing to God. Third of all, do any of you know how the charges came to be filed? I doubt it. Fourth of all, how many of you have reached out to the victim, as perhaps Christ might have done? If I remember my bible stories correctly, Christ made friends with prostitutes and tax collectors. Fifth and finally, I wonder what you will all do for the victim, as a congregation, if the priest is found guilty. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for judging and condemning a person who obviously needs help, support, kindness, and love - and I'm NOT talking about this priest.

First of all you are being judgemental by your statement "You are all ignorant". Secondly, have you tried to reach out to either the alleged victim in the matter yourself. Thirdly how are you being Christian by pointing out the splinter in someone elses eyes when you are failing to remove the beam from your own. Fourthly, maybe praying for all the parties involved is the best course of action and fifthly, reread your comments and see if they provide support, kindness and love to anyone who may be concerned about this matter.
