Youth Pastor Chris Furey arrested

chrisFurey Youth pastor Christopher Furey stands accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl in his charge at a Emmanuel Fellowship Church in Cottonwood.

Forty-three-year-old Christopher Furey was arrested on Aug. 20 and now faces 20 counts of sex offenses. The charges include felony sex with a minor, sexual abuse and luring a minor for sexual exploitation.

I don’t know how I missed this one. My only excuse is that August has been a busy month for pedophile pastors.

Dude. This guy seemed soooo nice. He was the childrens pastor, Knowing the girl.. I was highly disgusted. He is totally and completely disgusting.. WOW.

i live in revelstoke where he used to live, its unbelievable that he did this, i cant believe it, he was such a good guy

Reading the accounts, it doesn't sound like there was a victim. Illegal or not, it sounded like they were essentially dating. If that's the case, terrible to think that both of their lives are ruined when no one was hurt.

Could it be he was put in the position as a "set-up"? I heard that in the town in British Columbia where he worked there is a real problem with the "sex trade" business and the community there. The construction sector and the tourism sector of the community have organized "person-trafficker" who use threats, intimidation, violence and force victims to engage in sex acts or to work under comparable to slavery for their own financial gain. I hope he wasn't put in the position where others used the girls but he got the blame....????? food for thought......
