Pastor John Fiala arrested

The Rev. John M. Fiala was arrested and charged with the aggravated sexual assault of a child. He’s also accused of aggravated sexual assault by threat.

Fiala, 51, is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy at gunpoint in a hotel room and during private catechism sessions two years ago, the newspaper said.

Catechism by gunpoint, that is a truly disturbing image. Catholics priests keep finding new ways to abuse our kids. Abuse by gun, that seems so un-Christ like. Why is he still a priest?
The police say he is a predator.

“He has been a predator for a good while and it will be good to get him to where he can't do it anymore to these kids,” Letsinger said.

And Catholic authorities knew of older allegations.

San Antonio Express-News coverage about the suit this spring prompted the Omaha archdiocese to reveal that a minor had come forward in 2002 to report an unwanted sexual assault by Fiala back in the mid-1980s. The religious order knew of the accusation, but concluded it was inconclusive.

I wonder if the police would have came to a different conclusion?
