Pastor Darryl Todd arrested

DarrylTodd Baptist pastor Darryl Todd was arrested for statutory rape. He is the senior pastor of Spring Branch Missionary Baptist Church. His alleged victim is a 14-year-old girl. Todd was a family man. Which means somebody will post on this article saying the whole thing was the victims fault.

He was formerly the pastor of Saint John Missionary Baptist Church of the Freeman Community of Riegelwood, N.C., the Middle District Baptist Association Director of Youth Affairs, a member of the Evangelism Ministry, a lecturer of the Congress of Christian Education and past Chairman of Youth Evangelism.

Todd is the president and founder of St. John Community Development Corporation. He is married with two children.

One of the things that bothers me about Baptists is their apparent lack of standards. How is Darryl Todd qualified to run a church of any size. He does not even have a formal education.

He is a graduate of Topsail High School, and Louisburg College.  He furthered his education at Ferrum College, and University of North Carolina of Wilmington. Currently, he is a Seminary Student at the Faith Evangelical Seminary Based in Tacoma, WA completing his Bachelor of Art in Religion.

If he’s finishing his BA in Religion from a school in Tacoma that means he’s doing a correspondence course or online program. In the real world one gets his degree, then take on a career. In the religious world, its perfectly acceptable to neglect your education lead a church? Who follows? Is it because being a pastor is a no skill or low skill position?

As I understand it isn't hard to become a preacher for most any denomination. I don't know what is required by the Baptist but doubt many of those that start in it get their education first. It is much easier to wait for others to pay for your education then to get it on your own.

It's just time to pray for all leaders...whether Baptist or not....WE ALL need prayer!

Last I checked, preaching was a calling, not something one decides to got o school for, no matter the denomination. As a Baptist, I agree that one must further his/her education once in the ministry, as this man has done. I have heard him preach on several occasions, and it's unfortunate that he allowed himself to get caught up in the world because he is dynamic in helping people relate to the scriptures. But then again, knowing the scriptures enough to apply them to real life and actually applying them to your own life are two very different things. We were born into a world of sin--none greater than the other--so, as Mr. Williams said, "It's just time to pray...".

He has always been a fake went to school with him. Always was a liar. like what was stated earlier the blind leading the blind churches have aloud the world to come in and influence it. In the new world the devil will not come as the beast we know but as a beautiful being.

This reminds me a couple of years ago the Pastor for Straightway Ministries was accused in the same manner. This man was villified in the press all across southeastern N.C. After months of ridicule, the family of the young girl came forth and told the truth that nothing happened. The father of the young girl had some anomosity for the Pastor. He was taken through all that for nothing. The morale to this story is let's see what happens in court before we make all these silly comments about a situation we don't have all the facts.

We need to start looking at the bigger picture and stop bringing fault upon the religion and actually see it for what it is. Elders, Pastors, Ministers, (a step further) Celebrities (Tiger Woods and many others), Millionaires....PEOPLE!...Again....PEOPLE!...We need to stop placing people with a title on a pedestal we know they can NOT live up to. People are not perfect so no matter whether they are in the church or of the world we cannot expect them not to make mistakes or bad decisions. Yes! By all means they should know better. Particularly in this situation he should, however the only one who has any right to judge this man for his faults is one who has never made a mistake...EVER...not just this mistake, but any mistake!...Instead of passing judgment and posting horrible comments, pray for this man...and for the atheists out there show support for the victims family!....You reap what you sow! For all you non-believers again...I believe your saying is "What goes around come back around" and "Karma...Karma is real."

Stop dwelling on negativity, most especially since this is a pastor. It wouldn't even be this big if it was a homeless man or someone without a title. Sow positivity, man...that's all I'm saying. There's enough negativity everywhere else.

None of that matters..
It was another pastor's daughter.
He preached a revival at her father's church. He is known for being a womanizer. If he came to preach at your church, you had to protect your wife, girlfriend, daughter, etc. This was not the first time this happenned. Last year, he was sued fpr sexual harrassment by a member in his current church. Man some people will sit under (settle for) anything. Although he can preach well according to the black church tradition of hooping, that means nothing. I am so sick of churches considering candidates for pastor based on one or two trial sermons that are full of hooping.. Give me a break.

What? So he really does know her from church!!! Has he been fired?
No, the church has put him on a leave of absence with pay. It is time to pray.

This is a Baptist church, right? Are there any deacons? And if so do they have any scrupples about themselves? Are they married? Do they have daughters? Do they have granddaughters? We have got to pray. This world is coming to an end.
Could it be the course of events were "ordered"? In every "war" there are "casualties", some more odeous than others (involvement of an "innocent" minor). Could it be this Baptist Church was "chosen" to take in this preacher and "sit under his preaching" as God brought this "reign" of fornication, lack of integrity, total dishonor and disregard for this gift of pastor/preacher/teacher - which God can still use, post-rapture, for those who are "Left Behind" - to an end? If you are truly "milk fed" and cannot stand "strong meat", you will not understand this.
I know this really did happen.!..The girl is my homegirl . she's a real cool person and I saw her the other day and she's doing wonderful..
