Who The Hell Is Eddie Bauer

Who the hell

What I love about American car culture is that people write all kinds of whacky stuff on their cars and trucks and then leave it there for years. I’m sure this 25+ year old truck’s owner had a good reason to paint this on his truck, but I’ll be damned if I can figure out what it was. Anybody?

Eddie Bauer, clothing retailer for outdoorsy types (www.eddiebauer.com). Also worked with Ford to create Eddie Bauer Edition models of the F150 (if not also Broncos). Basically allowed Yuppies to feel comfortable in what was ostensibly an off-road vehicle.

Efogoto wins the OCD prize for the picture. Thanks!
So I guess the F-150 owner was giving the yuppies hell. That actually makes sense.
I was going to guess it was some advertising line but think Efogoto has it right.
That's excellent. Sounds like whoever detailed the truck that way had their priorities in order (and a good sense of humor to boot).

It makes me smile.
Eddie Bauer is an outdoor, sports clothing etc. store started in the Northwest (Spokane I believe.)
That looks like my old Ford F150. No, on second thought it looks a lot better than my old Ford F150.
I wish we had that sort of thing over here. All we have are stupid 'angel on board' signs and football stickers in the back windows.

We've got our share of those too.
I vaguely remember having an Eddie Bauer edition Ford Explorer. First model year... 1992 ??

It sucked.

True of all Fords from that era I think.
Yeah efotogo's got it right. It's not a "real man's" kind of truck if Eddie Bauer does it, right?

My first car was an 88 Ford Escort hatchback with low rider tires. It lasted almost three whole months :)
