Well, the year is half over and I’m a little perplexed. Either reporting on clergy sexual abuse is much better now then it used to be, or else we have an epidemic on our hands. I’m horrified at the number of cases I’ve posted on this year.
In Knoxville Kentucky a child was allegedly raped by a Christian youth volunteer who worked for New Beverly Baptist Church.
Randall Thomas Hollifield, 45, of Powell was taken into custody tonight after deputies executed a search warrant at his house on Little Joe Road, said Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Martha Dooley.
He has been charged with two counts of rape of a child and sexual exploitation of a minor, Dooley said, and more charges will probably be filed.
The usual questions come up but I’ll have to wait for the details. A review of the New Beverly Baptist church website shows nothing related to this case. Unfortunately, this is typical.
