Christian ponzi scheme goes bad

DSC_4188 It must be like shooting fish in a barrel.

Pastor Vaughn Reeves and his sons were retuned to Indiana by U.S. Marshals to faces charges of security fraud.

The men are accused of duping about 11,000 people into buying bonds for church construction projects, diverting money from new investments to pay off prior investors in a Ponzi scheme and pocketing about $6 million.

11,000 people invested $120 million.

The men are accused of duping about 11,000 church members into buying bonds worth $120 million by urging them to fulfill their "Christian responsibility" to support church construction projects, according to a probable cause affidavit. The men said the bonds would be handled by their brokerage firm, Alanar Inc.

I bet they weren't real Christians. Real Christians would not steal a pensioners life savings, right? Thou shall not steal. I’m pretty sure that is in the bible. Hell, if I get the message, I would expect a pastor to get it too. Right?
