A call to action

Glen Beck is a man I pay no attention to. He does not exist in my world. I don't watch his show, I do not listen to his words, and I would not know him even if he were to walk up to me on the street and introduced himself. Perhaps that is a good thing, because now this insignificant little man has pissed me off.

becksnake The Atheist Nexus has a post asking Atheists to protest Glen Beck’s latest nutball idea. Beck wants to take America back from the brink of socialism. He thinks he can save America by organizing around his Nine Principles and 12 Values. Principle two states “I believe in God and He is the Center of my life.” That excludes me… um, not that I wanted to participate in the first place.

Brother Richard requests that we all participate in a protest.

Beck wants us to send a digital version of your picture to: wesurroundthem@foxnews.com to show our support.

Please join me in emailing Beck and letting him know that his continued bigotry will not be tolerated. Also, feel free to send him a picture of you with something added to make it clear you are an nontheist.

Some ideas:

  • Send him a picture of you holding copy of Dawkins's "God Delusion."
  • Send him a picture holding the American Flag and wearing an atheist t-shirt.
  • Send him a picture of you holding an "Atheist Nexus" sign.

Although I am offended by Becks exclusionary but impotent political stunt.  My feedback is a little more direct. Beck’s political ideas are wrong. His effort will fail. The picture I send will be of Obama and the Atheist Nexus symbol. He’ll get the message.
