The Date to Save Ministry

OK - This must be a joke. My friend Richard turned me on to a concept called missionary dating via The Date to Save Ministry website. Apparently the plan calls for hot girls to date men with the sole intention of converting them to Christ. Can you imagine?

So, I created this web page for information regarding the calling of Missionary Dating. First of all, it helps that you're good looking. Romans 12:1 says "to offer your bodies as living sacrifices." Since our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19), it makes sense that we should use our beautiful bodies to glorify HIS name, the Holy Spirit will work the strongest since He's in our body, right? That's the best position to be in!

Can you imagine? I mean, how fucked up is that? I hope its a joke, but these days you never know.

I just went to her website *shudder*. My two favorites are :
6. If he tries to kiss you...
Remind him that a kiss killed your Savior.
(and you're not ready to "speak in tongues")
10. After you dump him...
Tell him that Jesus Christ will never leave or forsake him.

Now I haven't dated in a while, but I'm pretty sure this is piss poor dating advise.
When I was in church, missionary dating was HIGHLY discouraged.

I've dated a few christian/catholic men and turned them over to atheism or agnosticism, though that was never my intention in dating them in the first place. To be fair, they're the open minded types that were ready to be turned anyway. All it took was some discussion, reasoning, logic, and letting them know that being an atheist does not equal evil.

But I must say, its a little (read: a lot) pathetic that this individual is dating for the sole reason of converting men. Its sort of like prostituting for God.

I was going to say that I thought she was a POE before I looked at her twitter but she's following derek webb and a couple of other obscure christian musicians, and she's following Compassion, the xtian child sponsorship organization

If she really wanted to be efficient, she should let the men have sex with her. After all, if the Holy Spirit is inside her, and her date is inside her, then her date and the Holy Spirit come into direct contact!

Now I will return to my normally not so crude behavior. ;-)

It's not like this is new, The Family/Children of God was doing this (they called it Flirty Fishing) in an organized manner as far back as 1974.
