Reddit: Non-theist charities

Somebody had a good idea. Use the collective power of Reddit to build a list of non-theist charities. I plan to steal liberally from the list for another post. In the mean time, if you know of any charities that qualify, add them to the Reddit list or add a comment to this post.

I've been trying to get the charity word out this holiday season by asking blogs to post about charities as well as putting up my own list on my blog. Atheists give significantly less in money and time to charity than the religious, and I believe that this is because most atheists lack the social giving network that the religious have due to their church attendance. I hope that those on the atheist blogroll could all either post their own list of charities (or worthy causes) or link to someone else's in order to help get the word out and get our own social network going. I also urge everyone out there to try and become more environmentally conscious this season as well as to do things like donate blood or become an organ donor (dead is dead right?) that could do a lot to help end worldsuck.
