I support possummomma

I was reading The Calladus Blog when I came across a post regarding possummomma and her blog Atheist in a Minivan. I was traumatized to learn that her blog has gone dark. She's been intimidated and stalked to a point where she felt it was better to stop. You can read all about it here.

Mark, of the Calladus Blog, produced the Possummomma graphic as a way for our fellow blogger to show support. I've added The Calladus blog to my top blogs list to show my appreciation for his effort.

I'm also sad this has happened - she is one of my daily reads and I have known her on a couple of other fora not to do with atheism for some time - that this has happened as aresult of crazy idiots on the net as well as a religiodiot is appalling. I hope everything works out for her and her wonderful family

HI there,

I came to this site when I googled Pm name. I am just bored and I have been kinda fascinated by this whole thing.

I came here from the GDNNOP ( I never posted, just read stuff) and I have to say how disappointed I am in that site posting personal information on other blogs.

Regardless of the truth and lies, that is just a step that should have never been taken.

I don't know who PennMommy is or what her problem is, the thing I do know is that two wrongs don/t make a right.

I wanted to drop by and say thanks, Mo. I have just started reading the blogs that covered this. The last two weeks have been horrible. Our daughter getting sick was bad. Having my family, extended and immediate, put through this internet drama was crazy. Pennmommy lied to people. That doesn't make her loss any less awful. People have asked why I don't defend myself by giving up her personals and I feel stupid because all I can say is that she deserves to grieve privately no matter how much she used my family. My life has been tipped upside down but it could be worse.

I've seen statements to this effect before, and I have to say they puzzle me. Possummomma came into an established community - yes, it was a community devoted to discussing a ridiculous television show, but so what? She lied about who she was. She told a bunch of lies, in fact, culminating with killing off her fictional son. Why does she deserve protection from exposure? GDNOP did not print her full name. They didn't go as far as they could have in going after her. So why is their behavior that is shameful?

Possummomma continues to lie. Anyone with a shred of common sense, an internet connection and half an hour to kill can find ample evidence of her ridiculously, improbably dramatic life - replete with health crises (her own and her childrens') and numerous instances of her being stalked and harrassed. It boggles my mind that people still buy what she's selling.

Possummomma, Penn Mommy, Jhawksgirl, Bethanna, BananaBethana, Scarlett75, Garden Lorna, Tampersay, William, Becky Haas, Karen, etc. There is one person responsible for about a dozen names out there. No doubt about it. I have been reading all of this, carefully following link to link to link, blog to blog to blog. The writing styles, the themes, the stories all begin to repeat themselves and become quite clear. She has run scams -- some of them involving money -- on a stamping blog, the Penn Mommy blog, the Atheist blog, the Gosselin blog. She very clearly has an illness of some sort, perhaps multiple illnesses most of which appear to be mental. Manic depressive, pathological liar, Munchhausen by Internet, etc. There are several that come to mind. We should all feel sorry for such a sick person. We should also wonder if she has committed any crimes, given the involvement of impersonation and money. And, are there others that have been involved in these scams. Though I do not think this person needs any more attention by the continued discussion of this sordid story, I do think the truth needs to come out and splashed all over the place so this person perhaps get the message that this nonsense is inappropriate, dangerous, and perhaps criminal.

Sherlock, you are an idiot. Twenty seconds on google proved the claims that possummomma is anyone but Scarlett75 and Jhawksgirl wrong. Pennmommy could have sock puppets and no one provided reliable proof that Pennmommy was Possummomma.

Possummomma didn't scam you. From my quick look Pennmommy didn't operate a scam either. Those are strong charges with no proof. Based on my appraisal of your skills in identifying possummomma, I'd say you are throwing shit at a wall to see what sticks. Where's the money scam on Pennmommy and a Gosselin blog? There wasn't anything in cache that fits. Link it. I gave to P-momma cuz I wanted to. She didn't ask for it. To make it a scam you have to implicate Berlzebub. Go for it. I'll write Berl and P-momma a check to sue you for libel.
